What a gem! Opened and decanted into a bottle with a narrow opening to keep from aerating too quickly. Nose had tobacco, leather and earth. Palate had all that and a little mint, anise and herbs. Beautiful red color, clean and clear. Enjoyed with the tail-end of an uni pasta special, and with shared lamb (with fresh mint, morels, and asparagus) and with roast suckling pig. Evolved during the course of two hours or so. — 7 years ago
Delicious cherry and dark plums!! — 8 years ago
Yum. Bought this bottle on 'Evacu-cation' during our escape from Calistoga wildfires to sunny Ojai. One of a few library wines scored from the Ojai Vineyard tasting room. Great example of California Chardonnay at its best. Shows restraint and reserve with invigorating acidity. Tasting great at this age. — 8 years ago
Medium deep ruby with quite narrow violet pink rim . Aromatic on the nose crunchy cassis , blackberry , and slate . On the palate fresh summer pudding fruits , spicy with black pepper notes , mineral , quite strict and refreshing acidity . Leaves the palate very clean and refreshed, no excess sweetness or flesh on the palate . Ripe but slightly gritty tannin . Ok length. Drink now and over the next 5 years . — 3 years ago

Damn fine — 4 years ago
Solid. But following an Insignia it had nowhere to hide. Not bad but narrow. A bit too sweet and short. Wholly pleasant but so limited. — 4 years ago
2009 vintage. Garnet w brown highlights, med+ bodied, soft mouthfeel, long finish. Notes of blueberries, plum, violets, dried earth, cedar. High ABV at 14.7 but doesn't taste hot. — 6 years ago
Authentic aroma, acidities and tannins. As good as some of the most traditional producers in Barolo and Barbaresco. Can't escape the feeling that the structure is somewhat simple. — 7 years ago
Great value Red from Macedonia. Bright purple color that shows off notes of ripe red berries and fruit jams. (Concentrated). Little bit of cinnamon and herbs on the finish. Not much of a nose at all. Medium body with a very narrow and smooth finish. (When you swallow it- it is gone). Pretty good. — 7 years ago

Medium deep ruby , quite narrow ruby rim . Quite a lot of ripe red fruits , blueberry , strawberry jam , dark cherry and spice . Quite round and sweet fruited on the palate , cherry jam , strawberry , raspberry and dried spice . Ok acidity and ok length, just balanced alcohol , quite fine sweet tannins . Would be difficult to put this in Bordeaux ! Drink now and over the next 7 - 10 years . From 3 litre. — 2 years ago
