2001 Red Car “The Dreaming Detective” California Red Wine. “Unable to crack a tough case, the detective dreamed he fell out of a high window. He floated past a string of pearls, a jigsaw puzzle, a glass key. He drifted past a woman whose hair was ablaze with red rosebuds. She smiled, handed him a cracked mirror and said “pay attention to what you don’t see.” The next day he went to the crime scene and found the missing clue. He never told anyone about the dream.” I seem to recall that there were a series of these, but this chapter was hiding all by it’s lonesome in the back of the cellar. If anyone has the rest of the story, please report. The wine itself is pretty darn tasty. Glass staining garnet hues with some long legs. A nose of fresh baked cherry pie. On the palate, more cherries, nutmeg and some toasty oak. Decent finish. Pretty darn tasty actually, and a nice start to a long Holiday weekend. My guess is that there will be a few more bottles. — 8 years ago
This Champagne was disgorged 10-1013. The Bollinger Granda Année never disappoints! She is the quite beauty in the black dress with the grey pearls, intriguing, complex, soft. Has a lovely floral, pair, green apple nose, the mousse is fine, precise, the flavors posses same complexity as the nose, it is crisp, far from austere finish. — 9 years ago
A hue that seems to find itself on the cusp of turning golden like only autumn may ordinarily bring about. Apricot pit with liliputanesque and simultaneously uproarious bubble-pearls in this Magnum. Toasty and nutty, like grandma knitting by the fire place. — 9 years ago

Picnic with goodies from Grand Epicerie de Bon Marche, the food Fantasyland. Good string of pearls, semi dry. Wished we were at Musee Rhodin garden but didn't have enough time — 8 years ago
Vilmart is one of my favorite producers and this bottle, a favorite memory, from a profoundly enjoyable luncheon at Hôtel Restaurant Les Avisés, owned by Anselme Selosse and his wife. Everything about that day was perfect, including the wine. The 2010 Cuvée Grand Cellier d' Or Brut is a sunbeam in a glass, with bubbles like seed pearls embroidered on golden-threaded brocade. Transporting aromas of lemon pudding, dewy pear, white flowers, honeycomb and dried mint lead into a wine that is as poised as it is precise. It crescendos on a spicy note that gradually subsides to a clean, lilting finish. — 9 years ago
Split. #214026. Gorgeous toast, red apple, huge pearls, screaming acidic streak. Down to a case and a half of splits, need to restock, ha! #kruglife #but1stchampagne @David White — 9 years ago

Pearls, vintage Chris Craft, night time ride across the lake, low moon flashes behind the trees, underwear in your pocket this time. The green flash of the aurora borealis comes out of nowhere, a slow serpentine sine-wave pulsing across the Milky Way. — 10 years ago

Lovey pale gold color with a hint of leaf green. Medium body, Pear and honeysuckle on the nose. Pit fruit, floral notes, & mild juicy acidity with subtle, unidentifiable minerality on the finish. (Grilled rubbed pork chops, cauliflower pearls, w/ truffle & asparagus cream sauce) — 7 years ago
