Quite good but a little too fruity. It's not more fruity than realm though. Lol. It's a nice blend just too much fruit. 9.0. I thought Modicum was fruity too. $135 — 8 years ago
Wonderful blend, in the $20 price range is well rounded and fruity, showing modicum of oak and nice tannins. 2011 was also really nice. — 9 years ago

Fresh mineral and citrus flavors abound with just a modicum of tart acidity to keep the flavors bright...a nice departure... — 10 years ago
very good. Very much like the modicum 9.2. Yum. $165 — 8 years ago
Unusually supple , refined and beautifully balanced for one of the Heavyweight Cal Cabs especially as it is so young. As I was told by the Sommelier " this wine although not having enough Merlot to consider it a Meritage , Uncle Rodney and his crew do blend with more than a modicum of Merlot and have made a conscious effort to make the wine more eminently drinkable and approachable at a younger age .
Gorgeous full forward fruit w cherry notes , I feel a roundness of toasty oak as well.
Worth higher marks than the rating I saw at 8.9. I would give this wine about 9.3! Incorrect not north by northwest sb Rodney strong Alexander valley 2014 — 9 years ago
It's the spice that hits your nose first—aromas of cracked black pepper, mesquite and charred cedar glide above denser notes of sun-warmed blackberries and ripe Italian plums. It's not as lush on the palate as some Napa Zins. Like all of the wines from Grgich Hills, the 2012 shows a modicum of restraint, in a variety that is built for decadence. Rather, the alcohol is neatly tucked behind a wall of high acidity and firm tannins. The finish is decidedly herbal and green, it's a wine willbenefit from time in the cellar. 15.5% ABV | Sample — 10 years ago

2015 vintage. Phenomenal 💥 for the 💵. Medium body. Big luscious black cherry w/a modicum of tannins to keep things from getting out of hand aka respectable. From my fave vineyard in Oregon. I'll be looking to taste this again sooner rather than later. — 8 years ago
