It’s been a few weeks and I sure did miss starting the night with my baby 375ml. Ahhhh! Several notes previously and all would still apply!
Cheers and best wishes to the people affected by the CA fires. As well, to all the fire fighters.
The smoke is in the town I live in and that’s pretty far from where they started. I hate to think what it’s like there!!! — 6 years ago
Got this on a close out from a distributor. Excellent everyday Spatlese. Pear, citrus, apricot; with great acidity and only 8% alcohol. At $6 a bottle, this is our house white for the next 6 months! — 7 years ago
Perfect and inexpensive for those who like sweet red - comes in single serve bottles — 7 years ago

Stunning. More precise and focused than Koberner. Tight, taut, backwards, lean and mineral. I like. Citrus, stone fruits, lemon candy, herbal, floral, very complex. Super mineral as well. Dry tree bark as all sorts of herbs and natural forest scents. It unfurls incredibly. Super aromatic and notable complexity. Palate is terrifically juicy and also very structured. So dense and complex with terrific structure and purity. What depth! Wow. Like a skyscraper in structure, but so skinny, nimble and clean. So pure and electric with nice richness on the finish. This is young and has so much going for it. Structure of a top GG. Unreal complexity and endless depth. I can’t wait to see where this ends up. — 6 years ago
My Parents favorite Riesling — 7 years ago
Smokey nose. Palate is great. Lovely rich fruit. Big acidity nice density on the palate. Pure as pure lemon zest. Wow. Like the best ever. There’s some indescribable savory thing going on that’s just bloody awesome. Lovely internal aromatics. Savory finish with a brisk acidic zing. Wow. This is a winery to watch and stock up on before the inevitable fame, price doubling and allocation game. Bought from Fass Selections. — 7 years ago
JL Selbach tasting 11/16/17. Lowest part of Schlossberg. Very sweet abs honeyed great floral nose and sunshine and warmth. Good body abs long honeyed complex finish. Traditional method of picking on just one day rather than passes based on ripeness. Yum. — 7 years ago

Honestly, this was the best wine I’ve ever tasted. I definitely have a sweet tooth. But it’s not Moscato sweet. And it went down really smooth. Love love love!! — 6 years ago
Probably my favorite Riesling! Fruity and crisp like an apple :) — 6 years ago
Needs an hour decant at least at this point. My guess is it needs 2 years to really strut its stuff. A baby Hercules. Incredible coiled power at this point. You can feel it more than taste it. Incredible spice. Lemon pith. Mineral. Petrol. Really saturates the palate. Hints of green Apple but mere hints. Has a weight like Kellers hubacker but more restrained. Almost like really really great meursault. A new Star is born. Stock up. — 7 years ago
I thought it tasted great! I can taste lots of fruity flavors. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. I really enjoyed it. — 7 years ago
Refreshing. Not too sweet. — 8 years ago
Very nice - nicely fruity on the nose, medium to full bodied, just a hint of sweetness, excellent acid and a nice long finish. Had at Auberge d'Ill. — 9 years ago

Damn well made Napa cab dominated wine
full bodied blend cab dominated but taste the softness of the merlot and the tanginess of the PV blend - for me it is sweet almost but elegance with a very dense purple zing from blackberry fruit intermixed with licorice and lime soil - the texture is nice loamy forest floor but not all earthy and a gritty layered mouthfeel - love the length
God I miss a brilliantly made cab from Napa
