Today, the Ferragamo family, with the help of Enologist Niccolo’ D’Afflitto have been working to develop the practices that have been used at Il Borro since 1760 under the ownership of Medici-Tornaquinci. A blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cab Franc, 10% Syrah & 5% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with a berry earthy spice nose. On the palate good full dark berry flavors with a nutty oak character. Fine rustic tannins, lingering ending with earthy berry tones. — 5 years ago

Perfect with filet of beef. Carmignano is one of the oldest appellations in the world. Cosimo III de Medici in 1716 issued a bando to ensure its continued quality. Mostly Sangiovese, it has some Cabernet owing to a Medici marrying into the French royal family. — 8 years ago
Lovely super Tuscan that pairs perfectly with a hearty red sauce pizza. — 8 years ago

Giulio de' Medici - a member of the florentine Medici family - became Pope Clemente VII in 1523 and used to live in Campoli in the Chianti Classico area where today they produce this superb wine (off the back of the bottle) Love reading about the Medici family. So much history there! Great wine for after a belly full of pasta! — 7 years ago
A lovely Pinot Noir that is fruit forward when drinking alone. With cheese and meat the flavors have depth and body to it. Very good. — 8 years ago
Wow! Nice surprise! Really full-bodied red. Nice oak notes on a full, fruit-forward body. If tasting blind I would have thought this was a Napa cabernet. Not at all a typical Italian red blend. I'm headed back to Lidl to look for more! Great value!!! — 6 years ago
Excellent smooth medium to full bodied Tuscan. Priced under €20. Excellent wine at an unbelievable price. — 7 years ago
Really rather nice, although benefited from some time to breathe — 7 years ago
The very definition of pizza wine. Lightly sparkling, high acid, dark fruit. Delish. — 7 years ago
