Clear, dark ruby purple. Shy nose of dark black cherry and other dark berries. Medium-bodied palate gives dark berries, black tea, light balsam, and a slight mineral element. Fine, medium plus tannins from entry to finish and bright, medium plus acidity make this a winner with a wide variety of foods. Salmon and roasted chicken were my first, and it performed stunningly. Approaches Burgundy in style and depth, but a real value at $15. Drink now through 2022. — 7 years ago

Celebrating Bastille Day with the spring dinner of the Confrerie St Etienne of Alsace association. Wonderful menu and perfectly paired wines.

A unique blend...Pinot Blanc and muscat. The muscat was most noticeable on the nose and finish, showing some sharp, sweetened pear and honeycomb. The pinot Blanc was dominant on the front and mid palate with melon, honeysuckle and almond. — 8 years ago
