4 hour decant and this big boy was still closed down. What little it revealed hinted at the monster wine this will become. Still very primary extracted black fruit, pencil shavings, camphor, mammoth tannins with fresh acid. Desperately needs time to open up. — 9 years ago

Pick this up in Lake Tahoe, very popular brew up north, very good brewery as well, classic IPA profile, not fantastic, but above average and very well done in the style, I would buy this often if it was available here in Nevada — 10 years ago
Winner of mammoth Cab tasting. Huge complex monster. — 9 years ago
Cassis syrup, loamy earth and white flowers, mandarin orange skin. Rich and structured in the mouth with a bit more elegance and balance than I expected. I went into the glass expecting mammoth proportions and the nose confirmed. In the mouth the wine has confounded me in an intriguing fashion, more earth and grip than expected and quite dry, which is unfortunately rare in high end Cab. Second taste showed a lot more monomeric tannin and serious grip. A decade may be wise for this one to get those tannins polymerized...soften! Lovely wine though, impressive and taught me something. — 9 years ago
