WOTN
2 years older than the Dr. Loosen in our line-up, yet it seems quite advanced in comparison - perhaps it's barrel vs ss ferment or the different sugar levels? Nevertheless, it was outstanding. Rich, layered, and balanced.
Honey, petrol, candied ginger, chamomile, quince, dried apricots, and cooked apples on the nose. The palate feels fresher, with waves of tropical fruits and a distinct minerality. There's a subtle greeness to it too. Lots going on, basically. Touch of VA. Crazy long finish.
It does remind me of a Sauternes, but at the same time nothing like it. Again, rich but so effortlessly light. First Egon Muller, and it definitely will not be my last - though that hefty price tag sure makes it hard to be a regular tipple. — 9 years ago

Jeff's bday batch -paired with Boche de Noel on New Year's Eve. Lightly sweet--not syrupy. — 11 years ago
This is one of those fun, rare surprises, you never expect it, but then there it is showing itself to you in it's own authentic, pure unadulterated beauty. This wine is superb. Better on the second day, I'd recommend decanting. Extra trocken must have some relation to extra brut, but there was very little residual sugar in this lovely sparkler. — 12 years ago

Compliments of the manager. Sweet and a bit buttery. — 10 years ago
Great for this warm summer evening at the concert with friends. Floral aromas lead to tropical fruit tastes. Stops just short of being sweet. — 10 years ago
2012 vintage. Great stuff! A little sweeter than the Dr, recommends (Dr. Loosen that is)... But it's great with some sweet candy peach, even a little smoke, and a long finish. Only 9% alcohol so hangover free! — 11 years ago
Deep gold. Big nose of red apple and white peach. Mouth-filling body and medium plus acidity. Rich palate of red apples, peach, hint of slate. Very rich for a Kabinett; felt more typical of the Mosel Spätlesen I get. Still very good value. Sausage/Schnitzel dishes and fresh fruit salad are excellent matches. — 8 years ago
2013. GG Zinger! Dry Riesling that makes anyone happy. #SimplePleasures — 10 years ago
Pop and pour!
The colour is very dark opaque red, with a dark creamy purple on the edges.
Nose: Right after opening, clear Pinot Noir plus something bordeauesque on the nose (it is Pinot Noir and Regent). After half an hour in the bottle, the alcohol (13,5%) starts to show, along with a bit of graphite and citric zest. It smells like a Bordeaux now, only a very thin layer left that reminds me of Pinot Noir. Nose is not very intense now. Violets.
Palate: Medium+ body with plum and graphite. Tannins are mild and integrated.
Tannins stay the longest in the minute-long finish, next to dark fruit.
Seems like an extremely good value to me. And it doesn't seem too young. No idea as to how well this stores from now, but it's absolutely drinkable now. — 10 years ago
