Wouldn't have guessed this had Gamay. Tastes like a slightly more tart Pinot. Notes of raspberry. Had at beast and cleaver — 4 years ago
Mid body. Matured black fruits aroma and taste. Comfortably matured. Quite smooth. Château Lafon-Rochet Lafon Roche St. Estephe 2005 @2750, wine plus - Oriental, 210113-210430 — 5 years ago

14.3% ABV.
I’ve always had difficulties understanding how (some) critics can compare this to Burgundy.
Clos Saint-Denis or Clos de la Roche? For real?
I understand preference and reference points but enough with the nonsense.
This is uniquely California.
And as such it is STELLAR. — 7 years ago

Outstanding, beautiful wine. Not overly mineral but sharp and bold. — 8 years ago

17.5+ marginally superior to the Clos de la Roche Lignier - same vintage — 3 years ago
2014 vintage. Named after Valandraud owner Jean-Luc Thunevin's daughter, this estate is planted with 100% Merlot vines, on average 40 years old. Delicious medium-bodied Saint-Emilion-like Bordeaux with a hint of truffle in the nose. Smooth and silky at perfect maturity. Good value at 9,5 euro. — 5 years ago

2022/7/12-14. Compared to the Joseph Colin Compendium, this was a bit fatter, richer and showed more oak influence (though certainly not excessive in that regard). There’s more smoky mineral in the nose - perhaps a bit of reduction as well - and a bit more juice and depth to the fruit. A few years to integrate more could make it even better. — 4 years ago
Dark purple. Well integrated tannins, spices, smoke and dark fruits. A beautiful wine. — 6 years ago

We bought this wine when we visited the winery in Sancerre. Beautiful dessert wine. Late harvest Sauvignon Blanc from a cool climate. Fresh flowers with a chalky note on the nose. Inviting golden honey notes, but sweetness is restrained compared to a Sauternes. Golden raisin, vein of minerality, with great balance. — 7 years ago
Nuits-Saint-Geoges 2009, excellente surprise, merci Gaby! — 8 years ago
The 2011 is showing quite nicely. Typical Saint Emilion style from start to finish. Excellent find. — 8 years ago
