Some excellent tastes of strawberries on this dry and complex rose. Great blend of 3 indigenous Greek grapes - 50% Xinomavro – 30% Limniona – 20% Mavroudi. — 5 years ago
CabSauv, Syrah and a bit of autochthonous LIMNIONA, 12 months oak. Meteora in Greece. A fine finding indeed! — 7 years ago
Floral and fruity aromas, stone fruit flavor. You can finish the whole bottle without blinking an eye. The best part: it won't give you a hangover. — 9 years ago
Back on track and drinking Greek. This was only my second rose on the trip and this one got my attention. Not only for its character, but it’s versatility with our meal. Apropos, the wine pours a deep fuchsia color. Bursting with fruit: luxardo cherry, raspberry, strawberry, kiwi, watermelon, pretty little purple flowers, minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry. Confirming the notes from the nose. There are tannins…but I would categorize them as low. Acid is medium+ however and the finish is long. Lovely, “fit” texture. A memorable rose that worked deftly with fresh tomatoes, olives and feta; fish soup; as well as handmade pasta and clams in light red sauce. Bravo. — 2 years ago
Great story — rare indigenous grape variety from a disused vineyard formerly framed by monks at the neighbouring monastery. Could easily be mistaken for Italian. Lots of interesting wines coming from Greece these days. — 5 years ago
Really nice. Light, strawberry, w grapefruit, grapefruit pith, watermelon. Refreshing, perfect summer drinking — 3 years ago
Medium to full, little funky, nice layers, little graphite, kinda light/bright — 6 years ago
Rose. Limniona. Very unusual. “Full body rose sparkling” — 7 years ago
Aromatic, tar & roses, tomato leaf, black olives, ripe blackberries. Great acidity, minerality and lovely fruit expression from the Limniona. Works well with Xinomavro!!! — 9 years ago

Not for the timid if an in-your-face Cab Franc is one’s introduction to the varietal. That said, a few put away in the cellar will bring much joy down the road. At the moment the wine is defined by dark berries, orange peel, green pepper and yes, even herbes de Provence. Crazy, I know. While a Fleurie and Limniona will bookend tomorrow’s Thanksgiving meal, a sneak pour of this Cab Franc is all but guaranteed. Can’t wait! 🦃🇺🇸🦃 — 2 years ago
