Really nice ride! All that perfumed purpleness in the attack and the spicy, sustained finish...complex and rewarding at 25$. 2 bottles remain. Note, the wine softened significantly on day 2, so plan for a one meal consumption. — 7 years ago
Yummy plummy. Very enjoyable. — 8 years ago
Guys steak night bottle #4 I usually compare Oreno to tignanello and think the tig is more angular and the Oreno has more finesse. I need to pair Oreno with steak more often. This was the wine of the night. I have had this bottle before but usually with Italian food not ribeye and flank steak. Lesson learned! This Oreno was bold with red fruit, spice and some mineral undertones. Really well structured. The cab and merlot were dialed up in this vintage and it shows. — 8 years ago

Dark fruit with spicy velvety undertones of violets and herbs. Rich finish. Filet mignon really went well with it. Surprise Cotes-Du-Rhone that is a cut above other CDRs. — 5 years ago

Great structure and fruit, but the tannins were a bit chewy. Maybe let this one sit for a couple of years. — 7 years ago
Fresh and fruity with tame tannins. A really nice CdRV to drink young. Stephanie (la beauté au caveau) described it as “gourmandise” which she translated as “greedy”. But what I think she meant was that it is easy drinking and you gulp it right down. That’s is the case with very inviting unpretentious red. — 8 years ago
Had another bottle. Stéphane Ogier is one of Côte Rôtie’s most well-respected stars & looks for concentration in the vineyards and freshness in the cellars. "Le Temps est Venu, ‘the time has come’ for an adventure farther south, with old-vine Grenache and limestone slopes. A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that comes from the Plan de Dieu and Visan AOCs. Red fruit aromas and pepper spice notes. Sweet raspberry and cherry flavor adding herbs to the mix. Medium length ending with earthy notes. Nice value! — 8 years ago
Excellent côte du Rhône pour ce prix ! — 9 years ago
Lots of aromas going on here. Cedar, spices and cherry. This was a bit thin to me. It never opened up even after decanting. Very tight. Wish it was the 11 or the much better 09. I hope it will age and open up. Should not have wasted opening this bottle so soon. Lesson learned. I will revisit but in due time. — 9 years ago

one of my all time favorites, this time i tried to pair it with pizza and penne vodka and it turns out that was the completely wrong pairing! didn’t quite click but that’s ok, lesson learned. — 5 years ago
