2019 vintage. Dry white Bordeaux from Sauternes vineyards (70 % Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon blanc) by Olivier Bernard of Domaine de Chevalier fame. Lune d'argent is the middle range and the heart of the production of Clos des Lunes. Hard to resist young, but ages well (check my comments on the 2015). At 9,90 euro (!) in my local supermarket this is one of the greatest white wine values ever. Combines the rich exotic fruit of the Semillon with the freshness of Sauvignon, the oak is perfectly integrated and it has amazing complexity and length for this price range (I thought the 2015 tasted this year was very good value at 17,90 euros). Drank 8/2/18. Nice pairing with Chicken Picatta.
2nd wine of Domaine De Chevalier. This is the white, although the red was nice as well.
Nose of lemon, toasted oak, and minerals. Flavors of citrus accompanied by toast and some wood notes. Nice acidity and medium to long finish. A little more complex, but less fresh and versatile the the "Clos de Lunes" line from the same winery. Depends what mood you are in

A strong nose of lemons, with a hi t of tart minerality, this is a very unique Chardonnay. The flavor is bold, unfiltered lemon, with long lingering acidity, and a tartness that you don’t typically see in a Chardonnay. Definitely one of the few Chardonnay meant for chilling. — 3 years ago
Despite the name, not barnyard-y at all. Good with salad and rich mains — 4 years ago
Rich but not too concentrated, beautiful dark fruit with vanilla... a very quaffable wine — 5 years ago
