Fall fruit, green pear and barely ripe yellow apple. Not quite buttered popcorn, but more of a burnt popcorn, in a pleasant way. Lemon meringue pie. Palate is tart crisp citrus and apple skin w/ a flinty backbone. Impressive finish that continues evolving. Nice Hautes cotes de Nuits. — 10 years ago

Wow! On this Saturday afternoon I have opened a 2010 Pinot Noir from Cotes de Nuits and I am glad I did. I just wish I had more. Beautiful Ruby in color. I love the nose on this one, ripe strawberries, violets, nice earthiness and mushrooms. A bit of funk which I love to savor that I find in the better bourgogne wines. On the palate I have sour cherries, with a touch of sweetness that helps in the balance. Smooth tannins, Medium + acidity, good length, great mouth feel. Super Burgundy at a great price, $24.99. 2009 Domaine Francois Lamarche Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits I am getting on the nose strawberries, red fruit and a little funk. On the palate I am really enjoying the cranberry, red raspberries, a bit of strawberry. The tannin is a joy that dries the mouth just enough with a bit of minerality acidity and soil. I think this is very good lite summer Pinot. I am totally enjoying this. — 12 years ago
