Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2019 Mª Luisa Lázaro pours a striking, almost radioactive yellow with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Meyer lemon, lime, starfruit, Granny Smith apple, sea spray, and rocky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, creamy and incredibly saline…like…how did they do that?! Spellbinding stuff. Further proof (as if any more was necessary) that Raúl Pérez is a freaking magician. Until now, this wine has only been released three times: 2005, 2013 and 2019. Only 2500 bottles of this ambrosia were made. Drink now through 2039. — a month ago
Distributor describes this as taut and racy with mineral nerve, which are all apt adjectives. Lemongrass, pomelo, tangerine, and grapefruit pith. Very energetic and bright. Crying out for ceviche. Not cheap. — 7 months ago
