Dom Perignon 1964, in magnum, shared today with Jacques Pepin on a Global Express 5000 to the Aspen Classic. I brought a Spanish porron (i.e., wine bong) and Jacques was game. Incredibly, the Champagne still had bubble, along with terrific hazelnut, brioche flavors. The landing was extra smooth and Jacques – In his cool broken English – said he thought it was because the flight attendant must have slipped him some of the DP. Fine by me. Best pre-1970's Champagne I've had.

This is a really tasty cab with an earthy but clean taste. Some peppermint and orange with cherry in there. Go get it! — 9 years ago
Just gorgeous, so Bordeaux like it's crazy. Big beautiful earthy tones backed up by fruit. Love this wine... — 9 years ago
29 years old and drank incredibly well. What a treat. The big fruits have softened but in their place is now a brooding torrent of notes which evolved from sip to sip. Quite a remarkable wine. — 10 years ago

Probably my first place of the night overall. Also has the most legs to go the distance. Put this one away for 5-10 years before trying again. Very balanced but built for true greatness. — 11 years ago
Light, fruity, nutmeg, complex. Furthest north of tasting. Slight minerality, wet sidewalk, gun powder finish. Spice — 11 years ago
Has held up quite nicely considering sir Parker's initial 86 rating. Great earthiness, black fruit, tobacco and spice and completely smooth and lacking any tannins whatsoever. Was go time 5 years ago but still held up quite nicely - Carl's place 06-02-16 — 9 years ago
Fresh and beginning to develop some nice tertiary characteristics. In a good place. — 10 years ago

Not usually a fan of Chardonnay, but this one has a unique citrus bite that would work well with food. Definitely purchasing again. — 11 years ago

1st vintage if this wine, so a real treat to try. A little shrill and sharp at the front. Lovely fruit. Still some fresh notes but in a good place age-wise. Doesn't hang together as well as the wines beside it. — 9 years ago
