Gut mit der Wiener schnitzel! ā 5 years ago
At 15 years old, perhaps slightly past peak maturity but still fruit dominated, with a little tannin. Nicely balanced though only a trace of structure; very pleasant. ā 5 years ago

Love! You can taste the bourbon barrel. Smells so good. Long legs, ripe red berries, smoky bourbon barrels. ā 2 years ago
Good mid palate weight and purity. Red sweet raspberries get swamped in grippy acid and savoury notes. excellent balance. Good but not great p/q ā 4 years ago
Refreshing and crisp ā 5 years ago
This one comes from a certified sustainable farm, with blackberry and dried cranberry character, a bit sweet and fruity at the end which makes it perfect for drinking by itself, it wonāt go wrong with a nice steak! ā 6 years ago
Gentle spice and oaky. A soft leather feel and content on the tongue ā 6 years ago

Bought in Wanaka, best wine out of all the ones during the wine tasting. Delicious!!
Saved the bottle and drank 4 years later, was a little tangy. We probably left it too long. Still really nice though! ā 3 years ago

This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley. Fruit forward with black fruits and chocolate notes, earth, vegetables, bell pepper, spices and peppercorn.
Nose of sweet red candy that fades out with airtime.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some complexity and tannins.
After a few hours of airtime it is much earthier with lots of vegetable notes.
Would benefit from another few years in the bottle.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

We had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Hermann J. Wiemer.
On the nose there was nice strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous notes and green bell pepper.
On the palate there was good strawberry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, a bit of oak and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with light velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves with a medium to medium + red fruit gravel dust finish. Well it looks as though spring can't make up her mind. This weekend looks to be a bit on the cooler side so lets get out and enjoy ourselves. Please stay safe and healthy.
