Half the price of La Pelle with the same amount of palate traction. We absolutely love this wine. — 10 months ago
Not a traditional cab but super fun. High minerality, dry. But dark fruit — 3 months ago
I’m 92-93 here. I think there is a chance this improves slightly over the next 12-18 months before staying at peak and then trending down.
I don’t drink much SauvBlanc (I’d rather just have bubbles) but this SB is like the Goldilocks of Cali SauvBlanc…it’s not the rich, Bordeaux Blanc style (Melka, V29, Lail Georgia, etc) but it’s also not the boring, forgetful SauvBlanc so many wineries create just because. It has Bordeaux Blanc qualities but with a bright twist…there’s grapefruit, tangerine and white peach aromatically, but even while there’s just a kiss of oak on the palate to round it out, it’s nestled between sea spray, lemon and limestone. Almost tart, but pulls back thanks to the oak. Wonderful QPR here — 9 months ago
More French tasting than cal. Subtle oak, fruit forward. — 3 years ago
In my opinion, there’s much “churn” in the Napa cab market right now, but La Pelle better understand how the high-end side of the market operates. It starts with a well-appointed winemaker - which is never outdated. This wine is stacked and jacked. Texture, and tension form the primary descriptors. Sandalwood is evident on the nose and palate. Mature cherries, oranges and bright acidity bring home what is an outstanding presentation. — 10 months ago
Dark fruits cocoa Tabacco. Will age nice — 2 years ago
First, I’d like to thank @Severn Goodwin for this excellent example of Rosé in our bottle exchange.
The nose shows leaner, candied & floral fruits of; strawberries, watermelon, black cherries, raspberries, candied rhubarb, amazing powdery chalkiness, fine white to grey volcanics, sea spray with candied pink florals.
The palate is; round, lush, juicy and smartly balanced. Classic French Rosé. Ripe with high viscosity. Candied & floral fruits of; strawberries, watermelon, black cherries, raspberries, tangerine, candied rhubarb, amazing powdery chalkiness, white spice w/ a ginger lean, some of the very best fine white to grey volcanics I’ve had, sea spray with candied pink florals. The acidity is a cool, rushing river. The rich, elegant, well polished, lush finishes with excellent minerality that persists equally with lush fruitiness.

Very well done. Has a sense of place, as opposed to many of the cab clones hailing from Napa today. — a month ago
