Not quite as good as the Gallina 10 Barbera Still needs some time — 8 years ago
Interesting bottle of Oloroso from the Lustau Almacenista bottlings, intense notes of dates and walnuts, while being bone dry, but it really comes to the fore with a bit of tapas, which softens and sweetens the sherry. Highly complex and fantastic to drink. — 8 years ago
Nice looking bottle, TS fill. Brought to Grasings in Carmel, opened/decanted 4 hrs before. Reddish tawny, doesn’t look it’s age. Wow nose. Exotic, attention grabbing. Notes of tea, rose petals, black fruit, some licorice and a little menthol. Ethereal in the mouth. Needed 5+ hrs to show its stuff. Had the staff standing in line for some shared pours. Great showing. At peak but bottles like this one are going to deliver pleasure for another 10 years easily. — 6 years ago
— 8 years ago
Something really special given it is only the third Palo Cortado from the butts of the solera under oxidative aging. Medium body herby aromatics from Jerez — 9 years ago

Nose is smokey, tarry and reserved initially. Nice spices. Some tea. But seems like it’s about to bust open in 30 minutes or so. Chestnut. Some mid season cherry and minerality develops. It’s getting floral now. Palate is juicy, ripe and dense with great freshness and expressive mineralIty. Concentrated and really complex. Worlds better than the Gallina. Needs maybe one hour open but terrific energy, density and freshness. Long as well. Balanced. Substantial tannins but velvety and just barely sweet. — 5 years ago
Awesome. Blueberry. Spice. Great density. Juicy. Bought from fass selections. — 7 years ago
Such a beautiful spot right now. Wish this producer was more readily available in the states. So much life left. — 8 years ago
Actually, 9.2 understates how good this wine was. Complementing a lovely menu, after a stern wine steward had demanded we let it breathe for 45 minutes, we had a wonderful experience. The wine, which had a tannic bite when we tasted an earlier sample, smoothly showed plum, cherry, and just a bit of minerality. We will remember this meal for a long time! — 8 years ago
