Another solid vintage of this consistently good Provence Rose’. This vintage’s blend is Grenache (50%), Cinsault (30%) and Syrah (20%). Light pink in color with some lavender highlights. Fruit forward aromas of strawberry, watermelon, red flowers and lemon zest. Same fruity flavors with additional notes of peach, orange, and minerals. Touch of white pepper on the tart finish. Dark rubi robe, nose of dark cherries, plum, top soil and asian spices. Dense and mineral in the mouth, medium bodied, very reserved and only showing its game after a couple of hours. 2013 vintage. The second wine of La Chapelle, that is now named " Maison Bleue", but an excellent wine in its own right. At 9 years old this is absolutely gorgeous with an expressive nose of blackberries, wild flowers, pepper and leather, enhanced by a subtle smokiness. In the mouth it combines power with elegance, with pure fruit, subtle spices, silky tannins and great length. Terrific value if the mythical La Chappelle doesn't fit your budget. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and garden herbs. Medium+ finish, chalky tannins, savory, ending with herbs, spice, cedar and slight fruit, savory. A nice Beaujolais from a vintage that I don’t usually love compared to 2014/2016. Definitely better with an hour or so in a decanter to let the tannins integrate a bit more. Dark purple in the glass - darker than expected. Nice cherry aromas. Still could resolve a bit more on the finish but with a slight chill is nice. — 5 years ago

Deep, heady, dizzying nose of strawberry compote, cherry liquer, sandalwood, maybe some eucalyptus, and other exotic woods.
palate also brings damp earth, light rose , and a slight sanguine note. More muscular Than I would have expected out of a volnay. But at the same time precise and fresh with energizing acidity creating a nervy tension. Sensational

I should mention that it needed considerable time. Started off very floral and strawberry but somewhat one dimensional. Several hours later was a different wine

Quite bright medium ruby , ruby pink rim . Quite elegant and reserved , some red cherry, violet , summer fruits , scorched earth , touch of spice . On the palate quite elegant also , summer fruits, blackberry , blackcurrant , red plum . Good balanced acidity , herbal touches on the medium length , saline tinged finish . Quite polished but still grippy tannins . This is showing well , especially with food , but has a relatively long future , from now and over the next 5-10 years. Deep Ruby red color, purple hues, with aromas of black fruits, herb, tobacco and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plums and black currants with cacao and tobacco spice, on a well balanced frame. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with fruit, earthy spice and cedar character.
