Strawberry and stony nose
Some stone fruit, medium body, high salinity, softer tannins, tinges of grit on the finish.
Overall a very pleasant wine, and one worth getting into.
I have been loving exploring the wines of Mexico for some time now - this holds its own in the foray. — 5 years ago

The deep mystery of black currant - and its bright acidity as well. Changed a lot over an hour, probably hit its peak stride around that time. — 8 years ago
Beautiful in color and taste. 2017 — 5 years ago
Drank with Lynda and Ryan in the park! Orange wine, not too funky, stone fruit and smooth — 5 years ago
Nimble, funky jaminess - the opposite of what you’d expect of a Cali Zin with almost 14% abv, in the best possible way. Very much in harmony and for my money, Scholium at its accessible best. — 7 years ago
The 2015, the other half of the night's comparison. Less subtle, more floral. Jasmine, rose petal, honey. All powerful, but all a bit separate and distinct. I think this could lie down for a good while. Will be pleased to try another bottle in a few years. — 8 years ago

This Mexican red wine certainly feels earthy and fruity like other Valle de Guadalupe wines I have had. This wine, though comes from the Italian grape Nebbiolo, doesn’t really have the sharpness (full tannins) most Italian wines have and most often need a food pairing. This wine because it’s light, smooth and almost Zin-like without being overly sweet. — 5 years ago
Excellent fruity Pinot with some minerality. Great turkey day wine — 7 years ago
Both really bright and really deep. Black currant, black raspberry followed by a hit of red currant and red raspberry. About an hour of decant until it was really hitting its stride. — 8 years ago
