@Delectable Wine this is the 2017 Verspieren-Haberer Grenache Rosé Rosalie.
Second wine for Christmas at my Uncles house in South Africa. Beautiful light salmon pink. Lots of layers on the nose with notes of watermelon, strawberries, and white flowers. High acidity (7/10) and light bodied. Zesty and crisp on the palate. Lovely roses, strawberries, melon and watermelon. Insanely long and lingering finish. Perfect for the hot summer day today, love what Thierry is doing in SA! Drink till 2021. (92+)

Love what Thierry is doing with this Rosé and with all the wines and barrels we tasted today at the Holden Manz Wine Estate with Wayne Buckley-Koch (Marketing Director) and Gerard Holden (Owner). This bottling is made up of 63% Grenache, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Syrah, 9% Cinsault and 7% Cabernet Franc. The fruit comes from various areas in the Coastal Region, like Wellington and Stellenbosch for the Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault as well as Franschhoek Valley for both Cabernets. Gently pressed as whole bunches before settling in the steel tanks for 12 hours and being removed from the lees. Very excited to try out the 2018 if we get a chance, it is supposed to be lighter and more elegant with less Cabernet.

It is key to #DrinkLikeABillionaire, but tis dreamy to drink "from" a billionaire, here, an achingly gorgeous Faiveley L-#Chambertin 1990 acquired from the #Koch Sothebys auction - still robust, still explosively aromatic, suffused with that old autumn leaves Burgundy magic — 9 years ago
Reticent on the nose but explosive and powerful on the palate. Great acidity and peach/apricot fruit, some drizzled honey. — 9 years ago
Not decanted. Initial vanilla oak notes blew off. Floral notes - palate was seamless and delicious with soft black fruits (raspberry), hints of game and liquorice. From vines initially planted in 1853 by Friedrich Koch. Likely to be the oldest Mourvèdres vineyard in the world. Must buy more. — 9 years ago
