Vintage 2008 | Restaurant Hohenzollern in Bad Neuenahr lies beautiful on a vineyard mountain overlooking the village; it does have a enchanting wine list with 22 pages covering Germany, but also 16 pages rest of the world. There are ripened wines from many regions. A 16 y old Zind Humbrecht Riesling is an opportunity not to miss. Gold coloured, fine smell with some almonds, a lot of minerals and enormous amount of butter and butterscotch. Wel balanced wine with tension. Paired with sea bass and curry shrimps. — 4 months ago
17.5. Not as rich as some vintages, but the better for that. — 7 months ago
This is phenomenal, one of the top three Rieslings I've ever had. Immediately, I noticed the heady floral aromas that make a top end Alsatian wine, then aromas of orange and lemon peel, dried apricot, petrol, must, and deeper bergamot, lemongrass, and french-milled soap. Racy but balanced acidity. Finish lasting for over five minutes. — 3 years ago
Classic French wine Alsace — 3 months ago
Mid gold in colour. Aromatics of yellow peach and honeyed notes. No traces of petro chemical. Medium plus intensity of stone fruit and mineral on the palate. Great depth. One of the top Rieslings in Alsace and showing it in spades. A beautiful Riesling and probably at its peak. Will stay on this plateau through the 2020’s. Interestingly about 25% went through malolactic so this is a different style from the usual Cuvée Frederic Emile. Very fresh for a 14 year old Riesling but remaining fleshy and M plus bodied. — 4 months ago
Apricot stone fruit goodness! — 5 months ago
Lemon, peach and stone. Nice mouth feel. Delicious — a year ago
100% Riesling that is aged for about 3 months on its lees, with bottling occurring about 10 months after the harvest. Pale golden yellow color with pleasant aromas of stone fruits, floral and citrus. On the palate flavors of peach, white flowers and citrus notes. Lively acidity, medium+ finish ending dry with floral, citrus and chalky mineral. Nice! — 3 years ago
Clear, medium gold with nice with nice unncharacteristic legs given away high alcohol content for a Riesling. Nose of medium+ intensity, primary, developing. Honeysuckle, peach and hint of melon on the nose. Off dry palate with high acidity offsetting the medium+ body. Leads to a medium+ finish. Juicy, concentrated and flavorful now but should develop some interesting secondary notes adding to complexity down the line. — 4 years ago
Deep gold in color. Apricot cobbler, ginger, ripe peach, and petrol on the nose. The palate presents apricot liquor, flint, orange liqueur, white pepper, ginger, cinnamon, clove, dried stone fruit, and lemon. Medium bodied, medium alcohol, medium acid, and a long complex finish. This wine is at its prime at 13 years old. A fascinating wine. — 3 months ago
Orange-tinged rose color with lazy bubbles. Smells like pineapple and sea salt. Tart with flavors of tangerine and strawberry, and a touch of cream. Sweet finish. — 7 months ago
A very different and distinct nose... some sauternes aromas along with honey and spring flowers. A rich body with a slight honey sweetness. Alsatian Adventure private tasting. — 2 years ago

Unique barnyardy aroma. Hibiscus. Super drinkable; especially in the humidity. Almost like a wild ale. Can’t wait to pick up another bottle. — 3 years ago
