Intense! Heavy and heated with notes of fresh ground coffee bean, pumpkin and gingerbread spice, vanilla, and an incredibly rich mouthfeel. Definitely a slow sipper. Prodominate flavor is coffee though. — 8 years ago
Spice box sour beer. Cacao. Rocks! — 9 years ago
Another terrific beer from Jolly Pumpkin. Definitely improves with some time in the glass; much better on tap at the brewpub in Ann Arbor. Doesn't have the depth of the La Roja (which is by far my favorite JP), but still a great beer. — 9 years ago
More of a sour beer than I was expecting. Not a ton of pumpkin but still very enjoyable in moderation — 10 years ago

Almost nutty. darker flavor, as name implies. The particular sour aftertaste makes this beer -- one of my favorites, actually -- maybe because it's so smooth, maybe because of the label, or perhaps because I had this originally on torch lake on the 4th of july. Would also make a superb fall beer. Thanks Charlie! — 8 years ago
2010, it just gets more sour...Damn this is good — 8 years ago

This is a complex, balanced, and really delicious beverage. I'm very proud of how far we've come as a beer-producing nation. — 10 years ago

Stout. Sour. Coffee. Subtle. — 8 years ago
A new one from Jolly Pumpkin, this one is a slightly different take on La Roja (sort of midway between La Roja and Rozilla). Nice nose, but the palate was disappointingly thin. I think this was released pretty recently, so it may need some time in the bottle to flesh out a bit more. As of now this is a good but not great JP...but it has potential. — 8 years ago
Bottled 8/1/2006. First year... And still alive. So amazing. — 8 years ago
Jolly Pumpkin Maracaibo Especial. Nice drinkable sour ale of the JP tradition with some prominent dry cocoa flavor. Do not be fooled by the label of brown ale, which is generally the most disappointing beer style on the planet. Thanks to McCusker for hauling this and many other fine JP offerings all the way to California! — 9 years ago
Deep chestnut in color. Filled with roasted coffee and dried currant aromas. The currant carries over to the palate joined by tart notes of cranberry, citrus , leather, and funk. An excellent sour. — 9 years ago
Collaboration with Anchorage Brewing. Refreshing, light, and easily quaffed on a fine afternoon. Luscious notes of grapefruit entwined with hops and pepper corn. Wish I lived next to Jolly Pumpkin. Let me rephrase: Wish they would move Jolly Pumpkin next to my house in California. — 9 years ago
