One of the wines I had in 2008 that made me fall in love with wine was a Côte du Rhone by JL Chave "Mon Coeur". It's been a long time since I had a Rhone wine, I got this from Kermit Lynch shop in Berkeley, Cali. Nice notes of pepper and spice, gamy, good tannins from Syrah. Another good find from Kermit... CVed 9/12/17. After JL tasting of Oregon Pinot. Yummy Burg ready to drink. Opened up after half hour. Great nose and balance and lively finish. Earth and forest and fall leaves. Think my scoring is moving up. Wow opened 12/10/19 and it’s fresh and delicious as ever. That’s over two years. Terrific wine. Still have legs. Must be at that magical aged with fruits mixed with tertiary notes. Yum. — 8 years ago
