I found this very interesting, quite feminine in nature. It’s elegant, floral, more lifted and spiced. This had the most beautiful brett character too, so alluring. There’s a softness to it on the palate and its quite open knit. The muscular and glycerol richness is more subtle here.

Drinking really well right now (4/2018) savory meaty notes in perfect balance with black fruit flavors. medium tannins are seamlessly integrated. Medium acid. Go ahead and drink now and get some to hold. It’s Chave.

Tight and muscular. The fruit fought its way through. I think better things are to come.

Elegant and high pitched nose with plum, cassis fruit, delightful floral accents with subtle notes of fresh pavement and smoking fruit wood. Palate is more reticent with nice blue and black fruit tones, iron and floral flavors. Youthful tannins with superb interplay with the bright, fruit driven acidity. Finish is mineral with black current fruit notes. First bottle from the case. Enjoyable but youthful with 3 hours of air. Needs 3 or 4 more years in the cellar and has the balance to age 15 plus years with ease.

I will start by say this is my favorite wine. Having 5 different vintages including the stellar 1990 This is no exception. 98+pts on this beautiful wine. Fragrant nose of fruits with some Brie cheese. Deep rich black fruit gives way to black pepper and earthy tones(mushrooms and some olive). Still with medium acidity and long finish. Close to perfection in a bottle

Ok. This is my personal favorite wine, no matter the vintage, varietal or the dollar value. If i was granted one wine forever, this is it. As a Rhône warrior it exceeds expectations, and drinks like an amazing burgundy. Still young, no nose upon opening. An hour later this massive floral nose permeates though the rum of the glass. Tannins not fully integrated yet with a pleasant acidity. Time is beyond its friend. Earth tones are present along with expresso and tobacco. Red fruit front and center with a long finish. Wish this could be everyday Allday.
