Began as a dream of 2 friends, Ed Selyem & Burt Williams, who pursued weekend winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in a garage in Forestville, CA, and made their first commercial vintage in 1981. Ruby with complex aromas of black & red berries with subtle spice scents. On the palate cherry and strawberry with citrus, cacao, vanilla spice and toasty notes. Aged on French Oak, well balanced, savory, round tannins, lingering nicely ending with some earthy mineral tone, OR style. Has room to age. Very nice! — 8 years ago

Very fun and bright! Great for sport celebrations or for treating yourself. Burt orange taste in the length with tastes of strawberry and peach. Has a pleasant dryness that lasts. — 9 years ago
I ordered a case of this juice recently. We visited Steve Reynolds (and their cat, named Burt....get it?!) a number of years back - and were on a huge kick there for a while. Lovely property and tasting there. I love this wine, and the name. Some great things, like a beautiful wine, take a lot of time, hard work, and star-alignment to come together. I say if you have a dream, a goal, go all in, work your butt off to make it happen, and don't let anyone tell you you can't! Anything is possible, if you have persistence. And oftentimes it's all a lot easier than you might imagine, if you calm your fears and have the confidence to go for it. PS like my pink hydrangeas?! They were blue when I planted them - who knew?! #persistence #pink — 10 years ago

Amazing. Great balance of red fruits, cassis, cerise, blackberry, and burt vanilla. — 7 years ago
Winery began as a dream of 2 friends, Ed Selyem and Burt Williams, who pursued garage winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in Forestville, CA. Fermented in 100% stainless steel, aromas of stone fruits, simple and clean. On the palate apple, peach and Asian pear, lively acidity, not overdone. Lingering finish, crisp ending with mineral characteristics. — 8 years ago
Variable flavor after opening, cherries/overripe plumb/blackberries, mild tannins, mellows out, and bouquet of ivory soap. Grew more tannins and common w time. SRB — 8 years ago

Brighter acidity and a shorter finish than the Burt Williams. Delicious red fruits were dominant on the palate. — 8 years ago
This wine has that soapy attack that I despise. It starts with a smell of Ivory/Safeguard and carries through the taste and ends with a lingering candy finish- this one in particular is cherry Now and Laters. I'm not a skilled enough taster to describe it better, I only know that it's usually with young wines. Disappointing.

The cooked down blueberry tones! This wine feels like midnight by the fire, naked and all wrapped in fur with 1973 Burt Reynolds.
@Jeff Savigny This was an excellent Cab! — 10 years ago
