Very good Vin Natural, something special — 9 years ago
Not going to believe it but I'll say it anyway: this wine was still young! — 9 years ago
Cork took me a while, that’s why I’m not a Sommelier. Gorgeous honey color, almost amber. Caramel, honey, roasted nuts and dried tropical fruit on the nose. Full body, with high acid and alcohol on the minutes long finish. This is great. — 6 years ago
1954 vintage Trader Joe. Pretty good — 6 years ago
The 1954 Bual from Henriques & Henriques was one of the weaker ones of the night. Mahogany and fairly dark. Very floral on the nose. Dried apricots on the palate. Mid length finish. Not especially complex. Enjoyable by any standards, but fell short here. — 7 years ago

Enjoyed this balanced white wine from Catalunya. Light and nuanced. — 6 years ago
Slightly musty nose of dried rose, plum, sour cherry. Lovely depth on the palate with dark fruit, some soured notes a touch of Madeira and a slightly drying finish. This has been open for over a week, so it’s holding up remarkably well for a wine of this age. Lovely stuff- a testament to the ageability of rioja. — 7 years ago
Old verdelho is an acquired taste. The VA and piercing acidity, combined with a lightly sweet but frankly brash palate can be too much for some. However the subtle, almost elegant notes of morello cherries, light toffee, mashed strawberry juice, estragon, and hints of black tea reel you back in. And under the brashness there is great length and complexity. Is it a great wine? Perhaps not. But it's certainly unmistakable. Also, I got this spot on; admittedly not difficult when you've had old verdelho before but drank it with great pleasure;-) — 7 years ago
