At the intersection of natural and traditional is Cos. There is a nod to the old world and nothing is overly avant garde or boundary pressing. It’s also fresh, unfaulted, unadulterated. Always pleasurable balance of bright red fruit and earthy damp forest floor - without too much crunch or sour.
I turned 34 when I drank this. — 6 years ago
The Sauvignon Blanc at Sierra Nevada while we were there. A great intersection of sweet and dry — 7 years ago
Delicious! Nice intersection of fruit and tobacco. A great buy at $33, wish I had more for another year! — 7 years ago
On opening it shows. Great intersection of old and new world. 10 years has been good to this guy, and he’s not getting old yet. Still youthful, but rounded and integrated. Has plenty of fruit, tobacco, spice and earth. Rating likely to increase with time and air. — 7 years ago
So. I love this man and his wines. The 10’s have felt like they’ve wanted more time on previous pops and this was just completely ready to go. We are in the zone! Perfect intersection of tart cherry, savory olive, and smoky tobacco. Excellent with fish and lamb, running the gamut. Benchmark Beaujolais. — 6 years ago
Very smooth wine tasted on our honeymoon trip. — 7 years ago
Nectar of the gods. Hazelnut, chewy with honey meets orange zest. Just beautiful intersection of robust flavors and golden color tones. — 7 years ago
This lives at the perfect intersection of quality and price — 7 years ago
The flagship wine from Burn Cottage, a Central Otago, New Zealand producer focused on Pinot Noir. Husband and wife owners Dianne & Marquis Sauvage sought out Ted Lemon of Littorai, and SF Chronicle's winemaker of the year for 2010 (Jon Bonné: "The simple version of Ted Lemon's story: Young American goes to Burgundy. Becomes first American to run a Burgundian wine estate. Comes back and stays true to Pinot's motherland."). Lemon oversaw the planting of the vineyards, along with all aspects of vineyard management and winemaking, chief of which being Biodynamic from inception. The label is a derivative of a 1795 fairy tale called “The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily” which represents the ideal intersection of people and the land reflected in Biodynamics. Black cherry, citrus, and lavender pastille, with some secondary loam and herbs. — 8 years ago
Interesting intersection of blackberries, anise, thoroughly integrated oak on the palette. Long and pleasant finish. Drinkable now! — 6 years ago
I like the style of these Domaine du Possible wines. They aren’t shy to barnyard and mouse. These animal instincts make for an interesting intersection of funk, mineral, and fresh fruit. You get the sense they are untouched. Charivari is 100% Carignan and nicely expressive. It has a glowing ruby color with raspberry, cherry hard candy, and musty cage. Completely fresh and all in good balance. — 6 years ago

I’ve rated and said this before, but this is my favorite vineyard designate and vintage of all of Tor’s Chardonnays. Drinking perfectly, this to me sits at the intersection of old and new world wines. Restraint, balance with and abundance of fruit flavors. Butter, lemon curd, vanilla, with a great acidity. — 7 years ago
Wild red cherry, orange rind, leather, shoe polish, damp leaves, licorice, birch (!). Medium bodied with full concentration. Chalky tannins and medium plus acid. Plum, roses, and dried cherries. Sprightly long length. Beautiful intersection of youth and age. — 7 years ago
