A beautiful deep red fruited nose along with earth. On the palate the wine appears angry that I disturbed its sleep. Gives me the red fruit found on the nose along with plums and throws in some spice & minerals. The finish was as if the wine threw the blanket over itself and told me to turn off the light and get out of the room. — 7 months ago
Discrete nose of white fruit with pears and also a slight minty and smoke feel, very discrete. The palate is gorgeous, such balance between the perfect acidity and slight richness of fruit and elegance. Another great 2017 CDB. 90-91
Nez discret de poires et une touche de menthe et de fumée mais sans déranger. Le vin est délicieux, quel équilibre entre cette tension appuyée et cette richesse de fruit, juste parfait. Un autre beau blanc 2017. 90-91 + — 6 years ago
Last had 2 years ago and the extra time has been good to this. Really a lovely burgundy with some rotisserie chicken on the first snowy day of the season in New York. Red fruit, light earth, and minerality all in balance and expressing very nicely. Finishes with good acid and a real lift. Delicious. — 5 months ago
Meyer lemon, lemon zest, dusty minerality, lingering finish. — 5 years ago
Very nice example of Sancerre. Well worth it; from Chez Foushee. — 6 years ago
Such a beautiful expression of Chardonnay — 7 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of strawberry, raspberry, sous bois, red flowers, horse blanket, mushroom and a mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is a fairly textbook example of the 2014 vintage with its rustic green streak coupled with Lignier’s charm. Drink now through 2029. — 6 months ago
Steely finish, lemony and lots of mineral — 6 years ago
This is a YOUNG WINE. I decanted for 2-3 hours and it really benefitted. I’ve had it at 8 years and it really shines. Very enjoyable now with some air but clearly more to say in the future. — 7 years ago

Sourced largely from Les Longbois in Volnay with additional parcels in Puligny-Montrachet, this shows lifted red cherry, strawberry, cinnamon, and a hint of stemmy spice. The palate is plush and slightly lean, with bright acidity and fine, chalky tannins. More about balance and transparency than generosity, finishing fresh and savory. — 4 months ago
