Wonderful and I felt lucky to enjoy. Great body. Perfect steak wine — 8 years ago
Howell Mountain never disappoints, cassis, black fruit, some plum, tobacco, leather, lots of minerals. Nice long finish, with some tannins still present. Outstanding. — 8 years ago
Smells a little like cotton candy and exhibits notes of cedar, clove, prune, cherry, red rose, eucalyptus with perceivable mint-traits. In another dimension this may be a cousin of Heitz's Martha's Vineyard. Awesome to have with bbq'd steak, garlic bread and knowing this is the only winery for this AVA ( just 20 miles south of where I got to imbibe this 400 case production of local goodness. ) — 9 years ago
Great zin. Totally different, thin, looked like Pinot — 9 years ago
I am very excited to drink this. From old vine Zin grapes grown on my favorite site (Beatty Ranch in Howell Mountain). And on cue it delivers that classic Beatty Ranch earthy black peppercorn spice on the nose, hovering over dark, very spicy blackberry and crushed rock. Absolutely attacks the palate with savory flavors. But no jamminess in the least. Very full but the 14.5 is well hidden. Such a long finish. Love this. — 6 years ago
Still going strong, I wish I had a few more bottles. It reminds me that Merlot received a bad rap in Sideways.
This was velvety and full of flavors ! — 7 years ago
1992 vintage, full-bodied, notes of blackberry, chokecherry, and tobacco. Decant. Opens up. — 8 years ago
Floral. Like beautiful mountain valley by the ocean blue sky floral — 9 years ago

Really liked, more acidic and less oaky than the MacRostie Dutton Ranch, which I also really liked. — 9 years ago
So good. Old school mountain cab. Seamless. — 9 years ago

Great! Right from the nose through the last drop. — 9 years ago
On the nose, this Howell Mountain beauty has chocolate, spice and mint accents on a core of red and black fruit. The flavors are the same/similar, and the tannins are well-integrated and balanced perfectly with acid, fruit and alc (13.5% abv). Full-bodied with a great, silky texture. The finish is long and dry, with notes of chalk and raspberries. An awesome bottle, drinking well now but this wine will also age well. — 9 years ago
Should have aged this wine for a decade. Forest and ocean mist, limestone quality to the tannin structure. Excellent wine. — 9 years ago

Nice wine...too bad I only purchased one bottle. Close out so nice price as there won’t be any more St. Clement from Treasury group. Too bad the system won’t allow you to insert location. I’m home after a nearly two month trek. — 6 years ago
