The air of a Merlot, with the joys of all the rest — 7 years ago
Oh my lord. What an extremely balanced, smooth wine. The aroma/nose is perfect, youthful fruits and berries, oak; but the taste is where it's really at. Sublime, smooth, nothing prominent, nothing hidden, all of them sitting in a equal row, like an extremely high end pair of headphones, nearly clinical. High alcohol content, low viscosity, translucent ruby color, presence of gas. What an absolutely incredible wine -- and it's from California!!! — 7 years ago

Dry, light, nice merlot! — 5 years ago
Deep red ruby, wider ruby rim. Slightly more high toned, sweet vanilla , showing less fruit comes across as slightly more one dimensional than the 2009. Slightly more advanced I suppose . Ripe blackberry palate, strawberry also maybe. Tannin is very suave and sweet, the palate is long mineral tinge on the finish also. Nice saline touch and balancing acidity . Probably needs a bit more time to open. Complexity I feel is still very much hidden , needs more time in bottle. Coming back to the glass the fruit does seem riper than the 09, alcohol also seems a touch higher. Length is good but perhaps the acidity is less marked than the 09. — 6 years ago
Great blend. I like dry and this has just the right amount. Typically Bordeaux drinker but this is perfect alternative. — 8 years ago
Dark purple. Nice nose of oaks, cedar, abundance of black fruits like black cherry, sweet hickory notes like California upscale Cabernet, raisins, and slightly herbal. Taste is jammy and chewy, with sweet note like vanilla, milk chocolate, black currants and raisins. Hidden within in it is firm tannins and solid acidity, some spice, grassy herbal notes, and some cherries. Aftertaste of vibrant acidity like balsamic vinegar and residual sweetness, cherry, a tiny bit of zest and oaky, medium long. This is a full body wine that makes you keep going and going until you finish the last drop of it. — 8 years ago
Good taste. Nice finish. Great price — 9 years ago
The last one...a hidden gem that made the move to Minnesota 15yrs ago. She’s held up well for a 17yr old. Subtle smoke, leather and plum. — 6 years ago
Loads of showy, aromatic, pretty, and mostly red fruit. Has stern mineral backbone hidden underneath. Started drinking nicely after about 2 hours. I would not open another bottle anytime soon. I’d say bury it in the cellar for at least 5 years before trying but it may not hit its stride until 10+ years. There’s so much here, I think this’ll be fantastic once developed. 93 pts indicating the quality of the wine and its potential, not this drinking experience. — 7 years ago
Last of the blind wines this evening. Medium to deep ruby red. A bit stinky on the nose to start with some added earthiness, a little smokey and blackcurrants. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and hidden but full bodied. Layered palate with dark berries, red currants, spices, blackberries, bitter cocoa and gravel. Rounded mouthfeel with a little bit of a gritty texture near the long and dry finish. This is a big boy wine that will benefit from a few more years in the bottle or even more. Drink till 2033. — 8 years ago
This is one of our favorite Cape Bordeaux style blends. Great body with long finish and subtle finish and velvety tannins. — 9 years ago

Nuanced and balanced fruit, tannins were balanced/subtle. Hits above the average Barolo for quality at this price point. A perfect wine for lunch to wrap up an Italy trip at a hidden gem of a wine bar in Firenze. — 2 years ago
