Sweet little half bottle. Lovely detailed nose from the beginning, but hard and metallic on the pallet out of the gate. Opened and softened considerably. Sweet tannins, nice plump middle. Red currant.. Was good in he glass for 2 hours. Pas mal for a 375. #bordeaux — 10 years ago

This has a great nose. Think chocolate coffee beans with hints of cherry. This was allowed to sit for a while and after about an hour and a half you get rewarded with fresh dark fruits, cassis touches of earth and a hint of tea. Overall a very enjoyable glass of wine. — 10 years ago

Translucid ruby color. Nose of red berries, spices, earth with a leafy / tree scent. On the palate, nice fruit profile, small earthy and mineral bitterness, good acidity and fresh, spicy finish. French style Pinot. Very good (90)

The 2006 Rusty Shed Chardonnay is a blend of four blocks of Chardonnay on the Flat Rock Property. Grapes are hand picked and hand sorted before whole bunch pressing takes place. It was then cold settled in stainless steel, 100% barrel fermented and left on the lees for 10 months. Wild and commercial yeasts were used for primary fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the natural acidity. The result?
Beautiful example of a mid to full bodied Chardonnay with butter, vanilla, apples and light spice on the palate. A lot of flavour and elegance at this price point. Sampled this 2006 in 2017 but this should sit well and perhaps develop more for a few more years. Best part? It's from Niagara! Loved it!

Another level... Still dense at the core, with steady, attractive bricking: Wonderfully dense nose of blackcurrents, pencil shavings, fine tanned leather, and a hint of woodland floor (fine moss, leaves, and fresh soil after an autumn shower). Velvety tannins and great acidity. Along with the '66 this is one of my all-time favourite Bordeaux vintages. Seems to be keeping up better than the '61s I've had over the last few years!

We drank half of it from the coravin before waxing the top in case the cork had lost too much elasticity to self-seal. I'll have the rest with my brother in a few weeks' time! — 9 years ago

What a wine!!! Mayacamas fruit, at 2640 elevation. 275 case offering. Poured a purple color in the glass with a dense youthful blackberry pie nose. The entry shows youthful chalkiness. Dense and thick. Beautiful now, expressing rather early on the palate but probably more of my kind of wine in a couple of years when this wine integrates a bit more. Finishes with lighter black pepper (provoked with pot roast). Youthful oak barrel tannin. QUITE enjoyable. QPR is quite nice as I don't think this one was north of 50 bucks. — 9 years ago

The Guiraud's color always looks so appetizing. Deep amber color. Forward nose of honey, apricot and orange marmalade. Full body with strong acidity that prevents the sweetness from being cloying. The acidity shows a little bit on the long finish. Great. From a half-bottle. — 9 years ago

2000 vintage. Medium lemon hue. Very very fresh. Zingy and delightful. Some nutty development already showing. Depth of citrus fruits, hints of bergamot. Green peach. Medium minus body. Good lingering finish. A classy wine. Leave 5 years+ before opening. NB: after an hour and a half, the wine has added weight, more concentration and a developed nose of almond, hazelnut and stone fruits - sweet apricot and some caramel.
