Magnum 1974 Anniversary Edition Martha's Vineyard CS. Second red for dinner at the house w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H and BP. Ah-mazing! — 9 years ago
Magnum 1997 Dal Forno Romano Amarone dell Valpolicella. Drank at Reddwood lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Third of the red lineup. Neither K nor I had tasted this before and it was delicious. Enormous and inky. It was just massive both in flavor and how it coated the mouth. Slight sweetness. Very cool to try! — 9 years ago
Magnum 2004 Bond Pluribus. Brought by Joe for Archetype lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Third of the red lineup. Big, big wine, but gorgeous. Tons of tannins and dark fruit. — 9 years ago
The original low pressure (4.5 atmospheres as opposed to 6) Blanc de Blancs sourced entirely from the Grand Cru of Cramant. The original name was Cremant de Cramant, but now that name is illegal! A great combination of toasty friendliness and high quality back end chalk, dosed at just 6g/l. — 10 years ago

Smells: tart tropical fruits. Taste: minerals, pears, apples. Excellent! — 12 years ago
Some things l like - family, long weekends, friends and wine - Revana was started with H Barrett consulting - I buy her stuff - she seems to not be part of winery of late - but I have 09 and 10s that she was the winemaker consultant - now a new winemaker but still purchased 12 and 13s. I bet I got the history lesson wrong but what I was told but enough bs -decanted for 90 minutes - love the nose with cherries vanilla and other delights plus the lady of the home says right mix of pepper and sage (not sure I can go that far) - now the initial taste - dark fruits with some added black olives - really leaving great smiles here - I bet I open another since it is a holiday weekend — 9 years ago
Magnum Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé. Champagne to kick off dinner at the house w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H and BP. Such a great champagne. — 9 years ago
Magnum 1998 Solaia. Drank at Reddwood lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. First of the red lineup. Awesome! — 9 years ago
Magnum 1975 Heitz Martha's Vineyard. Drank at Archetype lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. First of the red lineup. Couldn't believe how this wine held up despite its age. Still had fruit on the nose and a long finish. Really balanced and in perfect shape. — 9 years ago
Gorgeous! Everything im looking for in rioja. Seamlessly developing in maturity. Animal and cigar tobacco notes lead into silky red fruits and oak that adds but never overpowers. Complex and Elegant but not delicate. Like james bond in a tux. And this is just the baby of the L de H lineup... — 10 years ago
Magnum 1998 Cheval Blanc. Third red for dinner at the house w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H and BP. Awesome! So much fun to try this Bordeaux after the 2002 Domaine des Lambrays burgundy. This wine felt young, even though older than the Lambrays. A bit tight at first, despite decanting a few hours. Fun contrast of round vegetal and green noted, stronger tannins. Such a treat. Probably the fave of the night. — 9 years ago
Magnum 2007 Domaine Leflaive Batard-Montrachet Chardonnay. First white wine for dinner at the house w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H and BP. We love this white and it was a treat to try out of magnum. — 9 years ago
Magnum 1990 Bruno Giacosa Falletto Di Serralunga d'Alba Riserva Barolo. Drank at Reddwood lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Second of the red lineup. This followed the magnum '98 Solaia. We all thought this wine tasted a lot older than its age. Perhaps stored a bit improperly at some point? It didn't drink poorly, but everyone at the table would have guessed it much older than a 1990- sweeter and shorter finish than anticipated. — 9 years ago
Magnum 1997 Joseph Phelps Insignia. Drank at Archetype lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Second of the red lineup, following a magnum of 1975 Heitz. Much bigger and its youth showed. Lovely wine that we all really enjoyed. — 9 years ago
