Beautiful white burg — 8 years ago
Outstanding old vine Chablis that is "village" level but drinks like a premier cru. Decant for one hour. A SommSelect choice. $27. Wow. — 8 years ago
Creamy like Napa Chardonnay with lots of root flavor — 6 years ago
Nice fruit. Raised citrus and, again, polished. Good — 7 years ago
So I met Etienne Julien who took over with his first vintage in 2012. Nice guy. And after tasting his wines: nice wines. This one: excellent. Loved it young. — 7 years ago
Crisp, vivid and clean wanting to be more Chablis like — 8 years ago
E’ molto buono, specialmente a mia moglie piace. Lei continua di bere, e’ raro veramente. Il gusto di honey, ma non e’ dolce troppo, sarebbe tipica a Burgone. — 4 years ago
We had the 2015 Montee de Tonnerre on 7/19/21. A really good Chablis with a bouquet of stone fruit and minerality. A palate of lemon curd and vanilla on the palate. Well balanced, rich and intense. — 4 years ago
I was looking for a wine that would pair with Indian curries and took a gamble on this Alsacian white. It paid off. I think Guy Ritchie was describing this when he wrote, “You’re fat, and look as though you should be, but you’re not.” Smells sweet, comes from a bottle that looks like it will be, but is surprisingly dry. — 4 years ago

Lovely evening with very lovely dinner guests...this guy the second of two different bottles enjoyed this evening. Right out of the gate showed strong dark fruit especially plum to the nose...on the palate strong blueberry, plums slight pepper a bit a leather. Med plus finish and very delicious. — 7 years ago
Who would have guessed that this would be so good! A lot of funk when opened but once that blew off it was raspberries, healthy soil, a hint of mushrooms, fine black pepper, and red cherries all the way down.
A great level and impeccable cork attests to great storage, which will have helped keep this guy alive; but given the quality I'm also pretty certain it must be from declassified fruit (likely given the vintage). If I were to bet I'd say a combination of Gevrey an MSD. — 7 years ago

Fairly dark golden color w/toasty oak & brioche on nose, also some flint & stone alongside pineapple, lemon oil & orange rind. Fat silky & viscous across mid palate, a bit sluggish w/wood slightly overtaking fruit on palate. Still impressive but I’m a few years late in this. I’m a Folatieres guy - can’t recall where I picked up this bottle. — 3 years ago
