Pretty tight early, with lemon and orange rind aromas coming through. After it warmed a bit, mangoes and peaches appeared and the musty basement notes that typically accompany a wine of this age. The palate was very complex. Still enough acid to support the lemon curd and passion fruit that was left. Secondaries included cheese rind and rotting oak. — 8 years ago

Sadly my last bottle of this year. This has aged well but it was time to enjoy. Well balanced and delightful in your mouth. It was enjoyable to the last sip. — 7 years ago
Immediately upon opening the aromas remind me of a poorly ventilated English basement, or how a cave used to age cheese might smell. The age has dried the fruit character, and sprinkled in some decaying rose petals. The palate on this wine has a surprisingly intense attack and amazing structure given the age. Not only that but this wine has a lengthy complexity you only dream about in a pinot. Well done Mr. Steinmark. — 8 years ago

Another fantastic wine from GB. Rich tobacco aroma. Powerful first taste that lingers into a lasting wonderful flavor. — 10 years ago
Bartholomew is the sister winery of Gundlach Bundschu located a few miles down the road. One of the wines we tasted was this great Rosé. I left with a bottle. — 11 years ago
