Immediately upon opening the aromas remind me of a poorly ventilated English basement, or how a cave used to age cheese might smell. The age has dried the fruit character, and sprinkled in some decaying rose petals. The palate on this wine has a surprisingly intense attack and amazing structure given the age. Not only that but this wine has a lengthy complexity you only dream about in a pinot. Well done Mr. Steinmark.
