Started with really tart berry, almost green apple flavor. Mellowed out with time but kept the tartness with added pepper. — 5 years ago

Beautiful wine, one of my favorite Syrah from California. It starts off with aromas of milk chocolate and blueberries and opens up in to more dark fruit, leather and light smokiness. On the palette dark fruit - blueberries and blackberries, notes of vanilla with balanced tannins. I need more of this! — 9 years ago
It is drinking beautifully with nice soft tannins with an abundance of dark berries. It is fantastic for a Shiraz that’s 24 years old this year. The inky blackness of youth has matured to include shades of brown. It’s probably at its peak but I shall keep at least one bottle to try again in 5-10 years! — 5 years ago
Incredibly good! This is a young amontillado, some would call it amontillado fino, with 9 years in solera. The style is fresh, young, and flavorful. Beautiful light amber color with notes of orange peel, pecans, hazelnuts, a bit of toffee and some hints of yeast. Young amontillado doesn’t get any better than this. NV on Feb 12, 2019 — 6 years ago

Tasted blind, theme was either Napa Cult Wines or High End Australian, not told directly to keep us on our toes.
Deep to medium garnet red with brick edges. Dark attack on the nose with leather, bark, spices, a touch burnt and dates. As it aired out it gained some additional complexities with forest floor and more pepper. Solid acidity and well balanced with medium tannins (6/10). Quite a bit of red cherries on the palate with some earthy notes and a touch of cinnamon. A touch tart in the rear of the palate with some light tomato notes, mushrooms and gravel. Medium bodied with a long finish. Drink till 2019.
We thought this was most likely a Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Sauvignon led blend with some Shiraz from Australia. Additionally it has to be between 15 and 20 years old (so between a 2002 and 1997). Not bad for the first wine. — 8 years ago
Very smooth, would definitely buy again. — 5 years ago
Vibrant fruit, blanched almonds, not so flor dominant. Develops interest on the finish.

With friends in town during Thanksgiving, I hit up some wineries that I’ve been curious about. Super cool experience at Aonair. Grant Long, Jr has created something special there, and with David Yorgensen at the helm with the wines, it feels all dialed in. Their Grenache was a surprise to me. From El Dorado and there’s some initial funk, but it blows off and what’s left is a balanced, mineral driven, but kirsch laden, and yet still, a bright style wine that’s quite reminiscent of something from Chateauneuf du Pape. — 6 years ago

This was pretty kick butt. It definitely could use a bit more age to fully round out. — 5 years ago
