When you open a Lapierre you know you are going to have a good time. A gourmet wine with immediate pleasure as the Beaujolais floods know how to produce. Here we are dealing with one of the great artisans of natural wine without the inconvenience that this type of wine sometimes produces. It is a magnificent expression of Gamay, with volume, depth, relief. the nose is just wow! The mouth is incredibly charming .. to (re) discover.

Quand on ouvre un Lapierre on sait qu’on va passer un bon moment.. Vin gourmand au plaisir immédiat comme les crues du Beaujolais savent le produire. Ici nous avons à faire à l’un des grands artisans-historique du vin nature sans les désagréments que ce type de vins produisent parfois. I miss the tastings with this semi-confinement we are still in and stole the idea of @Benoit Duhamel here, so we made one at home with my son and my wife who are both wine fanatics as I am too. We chose 6 red Burgundies Villages 2017, 3 Côtes de Beaune and 3 Côte de Nuits and we tasted these blind, each of us giving ranks and points for each wines. Tasting blind usually doesn’t lie and it can bring numerous surprises which it did in that case. All wines were fo a good level here, no bad wines and all were fun and good indiviually but the results were pretty clear cut in terms of the Côte de Beaune winning this battle.

DelaGrange: spices and a touch animal too on the nose. Vivid acidity with a nice medium bodied structure, very balanced, good length and delicious finish. My number 3. 90-91

Nous avons choisi 6 Bourgogne Villages Rouges 2017, 3 Côtes de Beaune et 3 Côtes de Nuits, nous avons dégusté à l'aveugle et accordé des points à chaque position, il n’y avait aucun mauvais vin dans le lot et tous étaient très bien si bu individuellement, mais la dégustation à l’aveugle ne ment pas et les résultats peuvent être surprenants, les vins de la Côte de Beaune ont remporté la palme facilement ici, alors pour s’amuser un peu, voici le classement que cela a donné :

Friday night, what should I pick up at the neighborhood PCC? Why, this little Languedoc red blend, and on sale? Well, ok then! This bottle is 40% Grenache, 30% Carignan, 30% Syrah from the Corbières-Boutenac AOC, with the Boutenac terroir receiving AOC status in 2005. The wine region is in the south of France, nestled between the Mediterranean and the Spanish border with 95% of the wine coming out of Languedoc, and Corbières especially, being red wine. This specific winery has been operating since 1987, with grapes growing on and off on their farms since Roman times. The bottle has a sticker that indicates a gold medal place in the 2016 Concours des Grands Vins de France à Macon - not sure I'm on board with that, however paired with a rich spinach risotto with crispy leaks, it served its purpose nicely. ~$17 | #languedoc #corbieres #redblend

On the eyes: Deep, concentrated, ruby red, med stain, med tears, no gas/floc.

On the nose: Burnt orange peel, red plum, raspberry, bit of vanilla, nutmeg. Med alcohol.

On the tongue: Med+ tannin, med+ acid, med alcohol, med body, a bit chewy. Bright raspberry, ripe plum, a bit of tobacco, a bit peppery, good mineralty. Not much of a finish - but quite pleasant with food. Decant and let it open! — 8 years ago

Wow! Magnificent Pinot Noir combining the finesse of the grape variety, with the density of a remarkable aging of expertise. Blindly one thinks of course of a renowned Burgundy, while bringing a personal identity. Which class !

The Auxey-Duresses: gets more complex with air and extremely aromatic with dark fruit, violets, black berries. The palate has a mice medium strong bodied, some good structure, nice energy, the most balanced I believe too with this elegant power and some nice class. My no 1 but close with Ramonet. 91-92

Auxey de Alain Gras: Nez qui évolue beaucoup avec le temps, fruits noirs, mures et violettes. Bouche avec du corps et de la structure avec une belle énergie, le plus équilibré selon moi avec cette puissance contenue et qui a de la classe. Mon no 1 mais assez près avec Ramonet. 91-92 — 5 years ago

Lemon, oak, wet stone. Love the mouthfeel--velvety chocolate milk texture. Paired with lobster in tarragon sauce, which were great together. White Burgundy always reminds me of melting snow in the spring. — 7 years ago

Marsannay, the village marking the No. gateway to the Côte d'Or, leaving Dijon, capital of Burgundy, home to Ducs de Bourgogne, marking the beginning of Route des Grands Crus. Marsannay received its Appellation in 1987, recognition of the high quality of its wine. Pale straw with complex aromas of light stone fruits and sweet spice. On the palate some sour apple with vanilla and nutty flavors, notable high acidity on lingering finish ending with generous mineral tones. — 9 years ago

The Veroilles: muted nose that opens eventually on red fruits, strawberries, a touch spicy and slight oak. The wine has energy, freshness and is easy to drink with good structure but a length that is average at best for that level of wine. My no 4 but in a close group within the first four.

Veroilles: nez muet qui s’ouvre lentement sur des fruits rouges, fraises, des épices et une touche de boisé. Une bouche énergique et fraîche, assez facile à boire mais avec de la structure aussi mais une longueur un peu moyenne pour le niveau. Mon no 4 de justesse mais fait partie des 4 premiers avec une coche sur les deux derniers. 89-90 — 5 years ago

From a lieu dit surrounded by Gevrey. Definitely young but with a couple hour decant quite enjoyable and accessible. Tons of sweet cherry on the nose; aromatically really quite intense. Full on the palate, get more tannin than I was expecting, but very nicely balanced by a lot of acid. Enjoyed it with a roast chicken provencal but could have stood up to red meat too. Nice qpr at ~$30. Note this is not the “cuvee unique”, which apparently a 100% new oak bottling - this is the regular which is 85% old. — 5 years ago

Light straw in color with a golden hue.

Very aromatic nose of lemons, white flowers, yeast, green apples, grapefruits, minerals, spices, herbs and white pepper.

Light bodied with high acidity and a lot of tiny bubbles.

Dry on the palate with green apples, grapefruits, bread, spices and white pepper.

Medium plus in length with limes and bitter almonds.

A well balanced sparkling wine from France. Enjoyable by itself or with food. Good quality, fruity and refreshing.
I had it at the end of the meal, by itself. This is delightful.
