Pale straw yellow. Understated nose (too cold, pulled from wine fridge). Pear, Meyer lemon, delicate oak. No butter thank heavens. Should have waited a year or two but could not resist â 4 years ago
Love when producers take Pinot Gris seriously. â 5 years ago
Pretty solid Willamette Pinot. Really loved visiting and chatting with Marcus yesterday. Ripe but with nice structure and acid still, bit young and would be best a bit further down the road. Ripe cranberry, bing cherry, and raspberry, potpourri and drying rose floral notes, gravelly mineral earth, and a bit of clove and anise-y spice character. Medium (+) acid, medium (-) intensity of fine grained tannins, and medium (-) body but with great, soft texture. Versatile on the patio with an array of grilled sausage and brats. â 7 years ago
Lean and mean...hint of match strike and pineapple...second whiff brings warm brioche and tart rhubarb....long tart lime and sizzling acidity in the finish. Not your ânormalânew world Chardonnay, but in a very good and seductive direction. Mouth-watering and gaining gravitas as it warms. â 3 years ago
Infanticide. Amazing nose, and so much depth after Day 1. Hold remaining 3 until at least 2023. â 4 years ago
Beautifully pure dark cherry with a little spice, it took a little time to open but it did so with great class. â 5 years ago
I have somewhat limited experience with domestic Riesling, but this is so crushable.
Appearance: Pale gold with a very slight greenish tinge, light to medium body, translucent
Nose: Lemon rind, pineapple, petrol-plastic (in the best way)
Taste: pineapple without the biting acidity or sweetness, some green melon, light petrol, Granny Smith green apple
Would say a pleasant surprise but Marcus Goodfellow just kills it more often than not. We paired this with Thai chili crab cakes and a green apple slaw with chili lime cashews and fish sauce based marinade. Perfection. Need some more of this in my life. â 7 years ago
Light extraction, color was definitely light. Almost felt like full carbonic on some of this blend. High tone fruit, Ludens like aroma. Brambly with Greener slightly chalky tannins maybe from seeds. Salty finish. Very interesting wine. â 4 years ago
Popped and poured in a Grassl Cru. The fairly light translucent garnet color but excellent intensity present a textbook example of the difference between concentration and extraction. It initially shows evergreen inflected dark cherry on the nose, while a layer of very fine tannin latches on to pure fruit on the palate like Velcro. It broadens out and takes on more savory notes with air. Excellent now and I look forward to seeing what more age will bring to the table. â 4 years ago

If you like strong reduction this is a winner. I love me some reduction. Saline. High end oak. Clean fruit. â 6 years ago
