White peach and mango are wreathed in heliotrope and honeysuckle, accompanied by a hazy hint of yeastiness and fermentative “stink” familiar from youthful wines at this address. The midpalate impression frees itself entirely from any haziness, delivering floral profusion and a luscious abundance of fruit utterly transparent to stony, smoky and mouthwateringly marine nuances. “It seems to be a particularly good year for Zeltinger,” observed Katharina Prüm, noting that this particular wine made significant qualitative strides in its first nine months. I can’t wait to witness what lies in store that many years or more down the pike! (David Schildknecht, Vinous, January 2020) — 5 years ago

Ronco del Gnemiz Serena Palazzolo Sauvignon 2019. Plenty of varietal character with lime, boxwood, gooseberries, elderberries and kiwi fruit with an oyster shell minerality in the background giving complexity and dimension. The palate is driven by a linear and persistent acidity that is amped up on the treble and focused through the mid palate with a solid finish. As an entry level wine there is no denying this is an overachiever.
Paired with seared Pike Perch with a rough potato mash and a simple sauce made with reduced creme (creme double) flavoured with plenty of lemon and dill.

Estate situated in the quaint Polish Hill sub region of South Australia’s Clare Valley. Brothers Andrew & Neil Pike established Pikes in 1984 and continue to manage today. Pale lemon with pronounced aromas of citrus & stone fruits adding floral notes. On the palate flavors of lemon/lime, peach & pineapple with honey and toasty biscuit notes. Medium+ finish ending with wet stone character. Very Good, some bottle age will benefit. — 6 years ago
There’s a unique spice profile that marks Marius Shiraz. I do love it. Long long finish, tannin has a nice savoury grip balanced with dark black and red fruits. Florals in both flavour and smell, so much going on. A big step up from the 2014 Simpatico. Roger Pike has called it a day (https://rogerpike.com.au/news/), and at this point without any clear succession or sale 2019 will be his last vintage :( — 7 years ago
Quite nice with Pike, green peas and chanterelles. Single vineyard with a delft touch of oak treatment. Great minerality with evergreen notes. — 8 years ago

Charming, refreshing and sentient white. Lovely light golden to straw colour.
Delicate and warm nose of meadow flowers, tarragon, lemon balm, honey, peach, kumquat.
Nicely acidic palate, flavored by peach, apricot, white raspberry and hints of ginger.
Lingering pleasant finish shows white plum, ripe white currant, apricot nuances.

Strawberries and melons on the pallette and a soft, floral aroma. One of my favorite Pinot noir rosés! — 8 years ago
A bit sweet but really balanced. Smells of pike a baked apple crisp, topped with brown sugar and still warm. A favorite. — 9 years ago
Purchased for $12 and unlike a lot of inexpensive cabs this has characteristic body and dryness. — 9 years ago
