Dark, powerful wine. Blackberry & cracked pepper with chalky tannins just played perfectly with grillled Tri tip. This showed some great earthy notes as it opened up. Thoroughly enjoyed this wine. Paired up with what should be a country rock classic, The Fantastic Expedition Of Dillard & Clark. Ex-Byrd Gene Clark had a better run after he left the band & this is one of his highlights. — 6 years ago
Toasting Gene meeting his grandparents for the first time ❤️ with a bottle from Burgess and Hall. — 2 years ago
Wonderful 2010 cab- Jan and Gene shared this wonderful wine with a perfectly cooked fillet. So smooth- light on the tannins - strongly recommend if you have a chance to drink this bottle of wine. — 4 years ago
Drinking beautifully, 45 min decant. Excellent tart red fruit, excellent balance and tannin integration. Spare stateliness, personified. Drinking this wine is like watching Gene Kelly dance: elegance, mastery, nothing wasted. Paired with London broil and chocolate pasta, cacio e pepe . Ty, Fass Selections. — 6 years ago

Candied orange peel and bergamot tea. I’m still not sure I have the orange wine gene but I’ll take mine from Morocco in future! Skin contact Muscat and Viognier. Thanks @Lauren Vance — 4 years ago
I have a dear friend and artist who freely admits she makes a lot of her wine choices based on labels, bottles, and cool stories. She brought this wine to a New Year celebratory dinner where it was paired with prime rib. Aged in Bourbon barrels I was truly afraid I would not enjoy this wine at all. (History: The family bourbon gene skipped me). It was actually pretty good. Went nicely with the prime rib and offered great balance. Happy ending! — 5 years ago
