Lighter than most barolo. Went well with a banana pepper risotto / spicy Remoulade. Enjoyed — a year ago

Barolo Nebbiolo 2016

Franco Serra Barolo DOCG 2016: Medium plus acidity. Medium tannins. Red fruits. Dried herbs. Earth. Leather. Tobacco. Long, silky smooth finish. This young Barolo was a pleasant surprise as my expectations were low (due to its age) however I was very wrong. It had great intense aromas & flavors, reflecting the characteristics of a finer quality wine. For me, it was a definite crowd pleaser with an amazing QPR! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago

Royal Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend

Probably the best bottle of this I’ve had. Perfectly matured classical Rioja. Black cherries, some caramel, no tannins left and piercing acidity. — 4 years ago

Gallinotto Barolo Nebbiolo 2013

A steal at $38. Filthy, so good. Traditional style barolo. Decanted for about 45 minutes and it is singing. Drank with pasta with red sauce and meatballs. — 4 years ago

Otin Fiorin Piè Franco-Michet Barolo Nebbiolo 2011

I will say that this is too young & should be cellared for the foreseeable future. It does show some wonderfully deep aromatics showing balsamic & floral notes. A wine you can sniff for hours. Elegant & finessed palate with hints of smoke & a mix of red & black fruit. The structure is obviously prominent in youth, but the balance between power and elegance is something to behold. I'm not sure if I should have opened at this stage, but I feel fortunate to have had this. — 9 years ago

@WC Fields - very good question(s). I'm glad we had this, but won't be checking back in on younger vintages for a while. I love how you state the point about time spent with other wines. Cheers 🍷
