Wine #15: While clearly my favorite wine of the evening, the price point is a bit high. Lots of dark fruit, tobacco notes, forest floor, spices. Complex and structured. — 9 years ago
My favorite Napa field blend. Huge dark fruit nose., not for the faint of heart!! It is drinking incredibly well. Decanted 6 hours prior to drinking... was silky smooth yet with incredible intensity and depths of flavored. 😍 love it! This was the 3rd wine opened — 9 years ago
1983 - holding much better than equivalent Bordeaux. Rich, torrefaction - deep layers of fruit emerging through heaps of forest floor. — 10 years ago
Gamey and peppery! The nose smells like fennel and clove lain across a moist bearskin rug. The wine has a speckled, sedimented appearance that sits like raspberry jam in a glass. The flavors are of blackberry, garrigue, licorice, truffle, loads of pepper, game, and clove, with a long-lasting kirsch and mushroomy forest floor finish. Very interesting. Not quite like any wine I've had. Could have more fruit - perhaps a product of the "off" vintage. — 10 years ago
Stellar. Animal fur, burnt wood, forest floor, tannin galore. — 7 years ago
Everyone knows I’m a fan of LRA but I’ve not had the 98 for a long time!
As I just found some @ £68 I had to try & it’s lovely for the money with lots of life left 👍
🍸 Perfect in Zalto Burgundy 😎
🍷 Garnet ruby w/ brick edge
👃 Smoked dark balsamic oak in spiced black cherry w/ vanilla cocoa cream, herbs, smoke, leather, coconut & caramel
👄 Med creamy smooth body of dark cherry bathed in balsamic & vanilla cocoa w/ red berry tones
🎯 Long chocky cherry w/ touch tart balsamic thick linger — 7 years ago
Lovely, pretty and elegant nose that shows off red cherry, black currant and wild strawberry fruit notes. Just a hint of oak spice adds to the wines aromatic depth. The palate echoes the elegance of the nose with high tone red and black cherry fruit with a earthy miner edge. Tannins and acidity are lithe with dynamite balance. Mature but should easily hold up for 7 to 10 more years. — 9 years ago

Fantastic. Let it breathe for an hour. Drank w our two friends who own Manousakis Vineyard in Chania. Very special wine that is full bodied with soft tannins. Full of soft cherries and forest floor. It's the bomb — 10 years ago
Crazy good paired with dipping into gamba al ajillo (emphasis added), at Napa's groovy/real Zuzu, catching a classic deeply dirty nose while still sporting sun-drenched fruit that initially reworks one's first blush front mouth with an iodine edge that morfs into red and black fruit edgy with acid/tannin slow dancing to the depths and begging for another pinch of broth soaked chewy freshly baked bread and the associated next swig of this sweet juice...rhythmically stellar by day or by night😎🌌👣🍷🌀🎼
PS hit Zuzu (friendly, delicious and real...

Just a great Sonoma Pinot. Always consistently good. Great fruit both on the nose and palate. — 11 years ago
2014 vintage. Surprisingly well balanced for such an inexpensive wine. Fairly tannic with luscious dark berry/cherry notes and quite a bit of spice. Long and lovely finish. Good value red blend. — 7 years ago
on the edge, almost rusty but brilliant ripe plum, betaine, long finish. what made this a mark lucky to taste this — 7 years ago
From magnum with low shoulder fill. Dark ruby and opaque. Black cherries, forest floor, warm berry pie fruit in the nose. Very heavy and rich in the mouth. Everyone guessed 82 Bordeaux. If I'm judging, the perfectly balanced 55 Mouton tonite gets the slight edge because the fruit in the 59 Margaux was a bit more dominant than the less evident tannins, structure and acidity. Really good wine experience. — 9 years ago
Monkey 47 Dry Distiller Gin. Slightly hazy, water white, colourless. Pronounced intensity of perfume, juniper, lingonberry, violets, lavender, orange and grapefruit zest. With water added, more perfume and citrus notes to the fore. Dry on the palate. Warming alcohol, medium body, pronounced flavour intensity. Long finish. Very complex. Outstanding example of a premium gin. — 10 years ago
Haven't had this one in a while. I like, but where's @Marysol Castro ? — 10 years ago

Basically a Musigny California style in a good way very low 12.7%. A masterpiece! Quite fruit driven nose - forest raspberries. This is just a beautiful wine and in my opinion one of the best Pinot’s made in the US today. Very pale. On the palate raspberry as it opens up Kirsch (cherry). Super well managed acidity. Dark berries back palate. Hint of Cardamon. The first US Pinot I will buy more of this year - 2018. — 7 years ago
