Annual gift from Shelley. Dry and delicious — 8 years ago
Another tasty exception to my rule of not usually enjoying sauvignon blancs. Not all the way dry, plenty of wet stones, white flowers, passionfruit, clementine and kind of a classic Austrian aromatic quality that i always get, which makes me think of a foggy spring morning with wet concrete all around. — 8 years ago
I love all of the wines Palmina make. This one is such a lazy salty lover. Your hobo love with tar on his feet but a luscious long con on the tongue. Has he been licking a strawberry sucker then sipping Pellegrino? Enjoy a glass of him while the affair lasts, up until the last balmy, foggy warm night in Santa Barbara. — 9 years ago
Trader Joes. Smooth, easy rider. Nice with pasta. — 6 years ago
Deep red with steely dark fruit, notes of smoke and dry foggy tannins. Good mid level Merlot/Cab blend from SE, Bordeaux. 89+ — 7 years ago
SLH without too much explanation is a premier site for Pinot Noir and Chard. But like Napa/Sonoma and Santa Barbara the similar theme is we're finding more grape varietals to diversify ourselves because of how great our weather is and generally our love of many options. Roar is a local leader of quality wines, if you're looking for an SLH example of the good stuff.. here you go.
Went on a cool personal tour of some vineyards at the winery and tried some wine after. This is a newer vineyard for them, high elevation grown Viognier (10 years). Keep in mind this is a foggy climate versus most other Viognier climates. Rich peaches outweigh the honeydew melon fruit for an ideal balance of fruit I'd prefer. I think an edge to this wine is some minerality I usually find clouded from old world veen. Also out here we're in our 2nd or 3rd year in a row of very cold summers and cold spring/fall. It's really what I imagine Seattle to be because most days I just get overcast with my beach view😂 I look forward to a very warm SLH year; this will wake up the locals. — 8 years ago
Really great Pinot. Well balanced, yet complicated flavors that bode well. Very enjoyable to drink. — 9 years ago
I opened this bottle fast and slurped down the first sip... It's a foggy Friday in July and I'll be damned if I don't take this opportunity to leave the white in the fridge. It lived up to all my expectations: approachable, hints of black olive on nose and sip, round beautiful balanced fruit and a mouthfeel fit for the table. It paired perfectly with fresh buckwheat pasta, shiitake mushrooms and lots of Parmesan. Thanks, Kermit! — 9 years ago
Loved this blend at our tasting in Paso Robles this summer. Finally enjoying a bottle with dinner on this foggy December night. — 9 years ago
Cloudy, foggy brownish red.
Smell: not super floral. A tiny bit of green peppers.
Initial Taste is super intense. A bit bundled up. A bit dark and some dryness. Good fruit. But this isn’t as good as the last melbury I had right off the bat. Definitely was disappointed.
Initial taste is 9.1 — 7 years ago
Now is the time to drink this! 30 min in... Foggy wet mossy soil, overripe cherries lots of acidity still. So well made & love this family! — 7 years ago
A. Fine. Pinot. Noir. 2011 Thorn Ridge opened June 21st, 2017. Lov-ly. Floral mushroom, cool climate delicate fresh tanned leather. There's an herbal note that is that 6th gear in a 5 gear race car. The still present tannin structure fades gently. This is serious shit people. This wine makes the argument that cold, foggy, Burgundian-style summers make. The. Finest. Pinot. Noir. — 8 years ago
Sour, funky, and texturally pleasing. It was a light orange color, foggy and viscous, but still very light. Good wine — 8 years ago
Just lovely. Crushed raspberry and a lovely smell of pepper and you can almost smell the foggy air in Sta Rita Hills. Taste is smooth with both red berries and vegetables. Hint of new oak. Love it and I am lucky to have more in my cellar — 9 years ago
Love this local Pinot. — 9 years ago
Was on a wine list. Nice starter cider wine. Little bubbly feeling — 9 years ago

Was actually at the Stadsbrasserie in Rotterdam not the train station. Catching up on summer sips. Memory a little foggy. — 6 years ago
