Had this with Elena and Ethan — 9 years ago
My sweetie said the nose and flavor was earthy, reminded her of the boa tree snake she had as a pet. That's a new one! Oh, and meant in a positive way. 15.3 ABV. Glad I got on their bandwagon a number of years ago, as they've become hot hot hot in the past few years. — 9 years ago
Nice evolution here. It's still peaking with a number of years ahead. Ripe blueberries, black plum, blackberries, raspberries, some dark cherries, dark earth & dry minerals, spice, herbs, light vanilla, underbrush, some burnt ambers and a nice long fresh fruit finish. Good length, balance and near perfect acidity. I can't recall ever having a bad bottle of Ridge. — 10 years ago
On the dry side yet great flavor. Not too bold....light cherry hints — 11 years ago
Best CA wine I've had in a while. Deep red. Not much on the nose. Herbaceous palate. — 11 years ago
Smooth nice currant up front with a gentile oak balance on the finish. — 11 years ago
As reliable as ever - spectacular bubble tasted in serious company - number 2 by a sniff! — 12 years ago
For $12, this is a pretty darn good bottle of wine. Smooth and mellow. — 13 years ago
Amazing Blend. The Messenger has two varietals. The Number 2 is more for Pinot noir lovers. — 13 years ago

Supremely elegant number. '90 vintage. — 11 years ago
Pronounced aromas of blackberries and violets. Full bodied and well balanced. Lush rich flavors and vibrant at the same time. Drinks excellent now and can definitely age. — 11 years ago
Quite good. I want to tell this wine to save my number and call me in 20 years. A bit young. — 12 years ago
Vanilla, cherry, raspberry and plum notes. Moderate smooth finish. Light tannins. — 13 years ago
Excellent ! — 9 years ago
What a difference an hour decant makes! Pitch black in the glass. Barnyard funk on the nose. Blackberry and leather mid-palate. Lots going on with this wine and time will only improve this vintage. Tart cherry and cranberry on the finish. Firm tannins and quite dry. — 10 years ago
Amu likes it — 11 years ago
Very good everyday table wine — 11 years ago
Pop and pour. Black cherry, kirsch, black licorice, and some wood smoke both on the nose and palate. Deep ruby color, medium body. A nice impression of fruit—big, but not as heavy as expected. Medium tannins, medium acids, but they linger onto the finish. A decent wine, with better-than-average complexity. I'd get half a case of this and be quite happy... — 11 years ago

WNH event number two. Rhône varietal wines with TX BBQ...a match made in Heaven!
A true treat to try this next to the Clape Cornas. More fruit forward here with a darker fruit profile...even some blueberries. Heavier mouthfeel than the Clape. Smoked cedar, peppercorn. This wine in 5yrs or so would likely be incredible! Loved this. Thanks @Joe Lucca . — 8 years ago
