A deep garnet with hints of medium cherry undertones. Really intriguing nose that starts off with plenty of oak and blackberries, but then transitions to notes of leather, tobacco, and wet moss. What I want to say is that this is a very pretty wine, which it is, but it’s also so very big. It’s a huge Napa Cab which can be the death knell for so many wines but she manages to deftly avoid that fate. Plush and quite smooth on the tongue, there’s well integrated tannins and a certain lusciousness to this wine. Upon opening, there’s a surfeit of oak but that quickly fades and some really nice fruit shows. Blue and black berries, mint, chocolate, and herbs on the palate. Very nice long finish with some mild spice. — 5 years ago
Crisp and not overly bitter. Easy to drink. — 6 years ago

Little sweet side, Pepin was even dryer and we loved better. But very good cider. — 8 years ago
In a crazy twist of fate this is actually more reminiscent of an Oregon Pinot than a Grand Cru from Burgundy. Yes, 2011 was a tricky year but this does not speak of it's Clos Vougeot roots whatsoever. — 9 years ago
Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has ripe peach, cut cherries, tangerine peel dry sandstone and moist hay.
Palate has strawberry, peach, lime wedge, tart cherries, dry-sandy soil and a long finish. This bottle is just holding wonderfully and as fate would have us, we're enjoying our last bottle of the vintage. — 5 years ago
Bit crisp with a touch of fruity. Pairs well with grilled chicken or pork. — 6 years ago
Love this wine! Medium bodied, smooth and easy to drink. Slightly fruity of tart cherry/cranberry, but not too sweet. Recommended by the urban grape in Boston - would buy again! — 7 years ago
This is what happens when two grapes come together out of fate and love. Glad I have more, now I know to keep this to myself! — 8 years ago
Seriously delicious. — 8 years ago
If I had to tell Kellenberg from Loibenberg, with the fate of the world on the line...I'm afraid we'd all be screwed. I'm not that good. But damn good Austrian Riesling. — 9 years ago
Yes a California Tempranillo — 5 years ago

Great nose and taste. A perfect balance between the fruity flavors of Traminer and the herbal notes of Sauvignon. Organic wine! — 6 years ago
This definitely tastes like a serious effort; focused, lots of textural and phenolic character, racy acid. I dig it a lot especially on day 2. The Burgundian approach appears to show well here and the wine offers more non-fruit character/intrigue. Crisp yellow apple, orchard blossom, tea leaf, green herb, saline, crushed white rock. Slight aldehydic note coming through on the finish that I don’t find offensive, I think it’s adding something. Curious how this will unwind given how coiled the palate is right now — 6 years ago
All with celebrating our engagement. Last of the two Chardonnays from Hand of Fate Wines. Love both areas just like Adriaan and Lara! Light golden yellow with a well rounded and balanced nose. A little toasty on the nose with creme, lemon curd and zest, provenance herbs, and white floral notes. Love the complexity and layers. Medium acidity (6/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. A nice amount of richness with notes of honeysuckle, oak, buttery, stone and citrus fruits but a bit zesty. Long and lingering finish with a bit of minerality. Drink till 2023. — 7 years ago
