Santuvario “Gino” (100% Erbaluce grapes). Orange wine; apricot, tea, minerals, sl tannic. — 6 years ago
ZD Winery began as a partnership of two aerospace engineers whose initials formed the name of the winery: Norman de Leuze and Gino Zepponi. A full-body Pinot! Deep Ruby with berry aromas and garden spice. On the palate strawberry and cherry fruit with vanilla spice and cedar notes. The wine is well structured, silky smooth tannins, balanced acidity carry the wine to a lingering finish. Very Nice! — 7 years ago

Founded in 1969 by two rocket scientists, ZD takes its name not only from its founders, Norman de Leuze and Gino Zepponi, but also from the engineering term Zero Defects. Sleek in its design, but with serious thrust, comparisons could be made to Corison or Montelena Estate, as well as some Left Bank Châteaux. Tart cranberry, cherry, and plum abound with purity, followed by 70% cacao, fresh pine, and damp cedar. Some secondary coconut oil adds a slightly exotic feel to an otherwise old school, savory-styled Napa Cab. Excellent. 93+ — 7 years ago

The first wine of our wine progression dinner with Gino and Tia. Such an amazing Pinot from Mnt. Edna that doesn’t taste like a Pinot. So spicy, minerally and rich dark fruit that resembles a high end Southern Rhone. Paired phenomenally with the peach caprese, the varsi salami and the Jarlsberg cheese. — 5 years ago
