Blauschiefer Ahr Spätburgunder 2013

I've hit the last 4 out of 5 weekly wine committees and it has been a treat every time. This week, @Jeff Meyer hosted and schooled everyone on how good German wines can be!

My favorite red of the day. Mimicked
#1 in that I got a lot of new world/RRV characteristics to it. Cedar, cola, Bing cherry notes. Thought possibly Oregon. Very Burgundian, but with a more fruit forward palate. Excellent.

Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Pinot Noir

Vive la France! Red wine with fish? Hell yes... This nailed it with organic Tasmanian salmon. Darker looking than it taste... Which was an as it should be medium light Bourgogne. — 9 years ago

Campo Alegre Toro Tempranillo 2011

I'm partial to Spanish wines and this is no exception. It can stand alone as a solid Tempranillo or it an be (as I discovered last night) the rich topping on a very refreshing mixed drink. — 11 years ago

Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2012

2012... In the Peter Michael style. Oaky and flamboyant, with peach, pear and lemon. For those who like the style, a good Chard for $36 list price. I need to check out their single vineyard Chards in light of this. — 10 years ago
