Very nice and smooth; would love to get my hands on a 2010. With so much focus on their Malbecs and Malbec blends, Argentina doesn't get enough attention/credit for their Cabernet Francs, which can be terrific. — 9 years ago

ripe black berries fruit, black cherries, herbs from the Porrera hills, lavendel, thyme, chamomile, earth, fine cedar notes, a wiff vanilla, full bodied with a great and firm texture, lovely ripe fruit flavors, Llicorella, fine acidity, perfect ripe fine tannin, wonderful juicy aftertaste ! Fruity cassis and red peppers complemented by herbs and nuanced spice notes. Feels more cabernet driven although it is 60% Malbec.

Deep amber color showing her double cask feature. Nose of sweet apple cider, ester, a bit oak and cedar, smooth, and warm. Taste of nice peaty note, with spice coming next. Dried fruit like figs shows up deep on the rim and back of the tongue. Toffee and brown sugar like scarf wrap the tongue with softness. Aftertaste of dried fruit and baked apple. A 16 year old with smoothness and complexity of > 20 year old. — 8 years ago

2011 vintage. At Lima. Giovanni Rosso's first vintage of the classic cru, Vigna Rionda. Medium ruby - lovely shiny wine. On the nose, closed at first - due to its youth - but with air, spectacular. Minty herb, liquorice, sour black cherry, smoke, violets and tar. Very complex. On the palate, silky smooth - high tannin but ripe and luscious. Medium plus alcohol. Full concentration and high acidity. Deep flavours here. This is going to be a blockbuster of a wine with a long future. Spectacular Barolo. Drink 2023-2043 (although, to be fair, drinks really well now). — 9 years ago
