What a powerhouse whiskey! Smoke and citrus hit you like a core sample that somehow burgeons into thick smoke with a saline and jalapeño essence unraveling it’s lemon, tangerine and orchard fruits wrapped in sweet tobaccos. There is a mild sweetness that tames the heat with vanilla, chili pepper, almond biscuit and brown sugar, but the core never wavers, and the smoke never clears. A true bonfire on the beach! #talisker #scotch #IsleofSkye — 7 years ago
Solid wine. Best I have had by A to Z. Nice cherry notes. Nice color, light in body. — 8 years ago
It really gives the essence of jumping into a lake on a hot day. Refreshingly smooth and easy to drink — 8 years ago
A beautiful wine. Evoking the essence of fruit but dry as a bone. — 10 years ago
Open that bottle night! We’ve had this kicking around the cellar for nearly a decade and it was time. I’ve drank many Sauternes but have dreamed of tasting Yquem since devouring Richard Olney’s monograph (and Jeremiah Tower’s descriptions of Yquem bacchanals) as a boy—yeah I was a maybe a bit precocious.
Nose of muscat grapes. A brilliant medium amber, luscious mouthfeel. Mature. Honey, almond essence, crème brûlée, coconut, candied pear. The richness sets Yquem apart. What a treat. Happy birthday @Alsu Shakirova 🥰🥂🎂 — 6 years ago

Super juicy, slightly sweet but we loved it — 6 years ago

Just a perfect wine. Opens up as you move through it. Smooth the whole way — 7 years ago
The Somm called this “rambunctious” and that’s a great descriptor. It’s half sexy sleek backless gown and half bull in a china shop. Chewy dark depth, sweet black fruit. New leather, rich soil and the sultry essence of Phoebe Cates circa ‘84. This is still ascending but much more substantial and open knit than the ‘90 tonight. — 7 years ago

You had blueberry, caramel, potpourri, plum and cassis on the nose, a gorgeous medley. The palate opening has licorice, espresso and blackberry. There is marvelous concentration here, somewhat emblematic of the vintage, but the supple tannins, and seamless texture, rein in potential excess. You get cedar, tobacco, and fascinating salinity past the mid palate, and its power has graciously mellowed, leaving you with a delectable expression of Petrus prowess. You get sumptuous black plums and sweet tobacco, with a blaze of Pomerol’s essence on the layered, ebullient finish. — 9 years ago
